I totally agree with this. Russia has to save face with the power players of the world. I think there are several layers of communication taking place now.
See the smart players know not to reveal to much before hand. Unlike Hillary and Barack. They were really good at getting people killed by telegraphing ever move months in advance.
If I were a member of the Armed Forces again, I would be much more comfortable with President Trump at the helm.
The element of surprise is everything.

When someone has to save face in front of power players and their own people, it’s not wise to try to humiliate them in public. Something unexpected will happen soon. Maybe all the Syrian planes will be replaced with Red Star Russian air force. Maybe we get denied flights to the space station.
Public insult of someone who must save face is a bad idea. And all for a bunch of Syrian rebels.
