Well they got that correct.
That makes sense. Hulu gets more day to day viewing because they carry next-day airings of network TV shows. But Netflix has a much larger selection of original programming and classic TV shows, so they get more overall viewers.
This cord cutter was on Netflix yesterday.
I watched “The Longest Day”.
Why Netflix is better than Amazon is because you can WATCH everything you see on the screen. Amazon muddies the waters by mixing in Prime videos with pay per view videos and other crap. So you have to dig through a lot of crap. IF Amazon made an EXCLUSIVE PRIME video portal they would be doing much better.
I for one quit Neflix after their push to all original programming. They used to have a lot more old movies which is too low brow for them now. Too bad it’s so cheap.
I watch NF, but one thing i hate, they NEVER have the popular movies you want to watch at the time of year you want to watch them. Streaming wise..
Independence Day? NOPE
White Christmas ? NOPE
and several others I cant think of right off the top of my head...
KODI solved those issues
Well, Netflix is available with the web interface on desktop computers, streaming boxes like Roku, many Blu-ray players, the TiVo DVR, modern gaming consoles with Internet connections, iOS and Android app for tablets and cellphones, and most “smart” TV’s. No wonder why everyone is watching them.
Netflix does have a larger catalog, but they have been in the streaming business longer than Amazon Prime.
AP is lacking in many new titles. They are adding a lot of old, remastered videos, but their newer video titles are not so good.
Both Netflix and AP seem to rely on a lot of foreign TV series and movies.
Netflix has been purging their catalog recently.
Hulu now offers ‘mostly’ commercials-free subscription in addition to their regular commercials subscription.
Several other services insert commercials. I never had much luck with those. About half-way through a movie, it would stall. I would have to exit and reload. When I tried to get back to the location were the stall occurred, it would run a dozen commercials — and usually stall again. It frustration wasn’t worth getting to watch — sort of — free.
I do watch more Netflix and AP than regular TV. I do record via TiVo most TV programs I watch, so I can skip or fastforward through commercials.
I’m 63.
If I tried to cut a Cord I would probably have a Heart attack.
Oh wait...
At ten bucks and change a month, and a selection worthy of many nights’ viewing, coupled with the modern technology of WIFI and SMART TV’s .... WHY would anyone pay a hundred bucks plus for a million channels you’ll never watch ?
One - Netflix has more to offer.
Two - Netflix allows one to set a streaming quality level (I have my Netflix set a 0.7 Gigs per hour). Hulu, Prime, and others do not allow you to adjust the quality.
I have a limit on what we can download in a month, and days where Hulu or Prime are watched are more than double, to nearly triple (from 1.8 to 2.3 gigs per hour) the data streamed than what Netflix is for the same amount of time watched. I've tested Hulu and Prime and both are over 2 gigs per hour. On a limited data plan, that makes a big difference.
When we cut the cord for a year or so we found Netflix by far the worst service out there.
I just go online and put in the watchlist what I want to be there and then it is there when I want to watch.
Last night I watched RT, Foxbusiness, Reuters, WSJ, and a few other news channels for free. Sky news...
There is just no excuse to not be streaming if you are already paying for internet.
For my wife and I together, it's mostly Netflix and HBO GO, Amazon from time to time and Xfinity On Demand. I haven't tried Hulu. My wife watches her Russian programming on Kartina TV.
We never watch programming when it airs (unless it's the Super Bowl).
Netflix is starting to annoy me. Every time they tell me some new show is available I click on it and it is foreign with either subtitles or badly dubbed English. I didn’t sign up to netflix to watch crappy foreign media.
ping
I have Amazon Prime...and like it just fine.
YouTube seems to work...
I never found HULU very good....
