Well, I guess it’s time to boycott the Smithsonian.
Lol! This was fun to watch.
I’m thinking some of these guys aren’t sure what the heck the ‘rebel yell’ in point really was and are just doing a yell.
Loved this :)
They cried “More More More!”
I have seen that before. Its great!
The right think revised version will have them saying “praise hillary” or something similar.
+1
Imagine 15,000 of them, young and strong stepping off after that yell. It must have been something to see and hear - the bloody carnage that followed, very sad.
Check.
Why I Am Cancelling Two Subscriptions to Smithsonian (Vanity)
Kinda in a way surprised that Youtube hasn’t taken those videos down.
Must have been in the midnight hour.
Time to stock up on “Rebel Yell” Bourbon before it is off the shelves. Be a collector’s item soon.
U know why..! ;)
The Library of Congress id RACIST !!
My great-grandfather fought in a Virginia Confederate cavalry unit so I find this quite interesting. Thanks for posting.
I watched a documentary with real war veterans that explained the “Rebel Yell” couldn’t be properly done unless(and I’m paraphrasing)
“One was advancing with intent of bloody murder, with bullets and canister exploding around you on an empty stomach at an enemy who was intent on killing you”
It couldn’t(impossible he said) be done during peacetime on a full stomach and a mouth full of dentures.
Loved that interview(wish I reminded where I heard it)
Interesting footage. When did the last reb die? Do you know?
Walter Williams, officially recognized as the last survivor of the 4 million who fought in the Civil War, died on December 19, 1959 at 117 years old. He served as forage master for a Confederate cavalry company. The last survivor of the Union Army was Albert Woolson.
I hadn’t seen it before.
I found something new, just when you think you’ve seen it all:)
