The Slow Death of the Republican Party
Breitbart ^ | 27 Aug 2017 | Brent Bozell III

Posted on 08/27/2017 4:52:46 PM PDT by arthurus

constituents and they are about to learn that they’ve been double-crossed — for years.

Every Republican candidate’s stock speech sounds the same, the thunderous roar about a government out of control, federal spending out of control (insert charts and graphs and why, if you stack hundred dollar bills, they will reach the edge of the universe), federal taxes out of control (insert comparisons to socialist countries), the federal bureaucracy out of control (insert metaphors about chains, yokes, and the like), the family shattered with federal funding of abortion a crime against humanity (watch for it — there! The heart-wrenching sob), and our military is emasculated.

Two more items were added to the menu, courtesy of Obama. Obamacare Will Be Repealed! and Illegal Immigration Will Not Stand!

“But if the Party becomes functionally divided and starts running candidates against each other and splitting the vote, the socialist Democrats will take power nationally and they know how to exercise it.”

Oh, you betcha!

Still, I say, we quietly snipe them off, one RINO at a time.

we KNOW that the deep state has every politician under its thumb...we don't know the pressures these people face...

and no matter what, its better to have TWO parties because its a clear decision...

third party candidates only work to serve the rat party...

rats stick together...

notice how Bernie caved in....

Agree it is not pretty. You have a politically inexperienced President who has the entire media in a state of chronic hostility, he has personally insulted four or five former Republican opponents who are Senators with vengeful hearts( not that they didn’t need insulting),and a very slim margin in the senate. The Judiciary is hostile. The Speaker of the House is no bulldog. Politicians are often petty and narcissistic. The Democrats are solidly leftist, socialist and cohesive with a firm hold on ~40% of the population. Its a messy process but at this junction the Republican Party dented and defective is still the best vehicle for decent conservative. If you abandon it out of a sense of pure ideals, you will concede power to the vile Democrats and the suffering will be immense. Politics has always been the art of the possible.

Bozzell is a good commentator, but he was a Never-Trumper. He was in the National Review issue saying that they would never vote for President Trump.

I don’t see it that way since the Texas GOP backed away from a “bathroom bill” the other week after calling a special legislative session to pass one.

They caved to business elites including the NFL.

Here in Pennsylvania the GOP governor and legislature dropped a 28 cent a gallon gas tax increase on us back in 2014.

I went to Columbus, OH this summer leaving PA with 2.39 a gallon gas and by the time I got to a shopping center on the north side of Ohio’s capital city it was 1.99 a gallon.

“If we’re not entirely free at the federal level, we can at least be thankful that we are at the state level.”

Wisconsin is living proof of that! :)

Political parties ruined this nation. Washington warned of this. We are stupid people bent on self destruction.

“The GOP has control of Washington and the majority of states. What are they doing with it?”

The states that went for Trump this time around need to follow Wisconsin’s lead! Governor Scott Walker is one to shadow! Yes, WHOEVER (Reince!) advised him that it was time for him to run for President was ill-advised, but he’s done a bang-up job in Wisconsin. Lots of LibTard posturing for the upcoming election, but there is no way they’re going to unseat Governor Walker - until he WANTS to leave. (He needs to be grooming an underling - like NOW!)

We’re kickin’ it! The new home and apartment construction I see all over our state are a testament to that and businesses are clamoring to come here.

Life is again, GOOD, in ‘Sconny! :)

When Donald Trump was elected the republican elites exclaimed, in a panicked voice, “Oh sh_t! Now the voters are actually going to expect us to do what we’ve been saying we’d do for years!” Since fulfilling their promises is out of the question, they’re left with only one option: destroy Trump. I hope it’s the republican party that gets destroyed.

The GOP has control of Washington and the majority of states. What are they doing with it?

Reminds me of this quote from Abraham Lincoln:

"If General McClellan isn't going to use his army, I'd like to borrow it for a time." (Commenting on General McClellan's lack of aggression, 1862)

#Rinos and d!ckless #neverTrumpers like Brent Bozell killed the Republican party long ago.

Utter silence from the GOP while O’muslim destroyed the country. They allowed and funded all of it. The GOP are unindicted co-conspirators to 6 years of wholesale treason and lawlessness.

Then when Trump entered the GOP race & his prospects look good, all of a sudden the repubicans found their ‘backbone’. They went to war against their own nominee.<—See Brent Bozell. They haven’t stopped.

To hell with them.

What we are seeing is not just the end of either political party. What we are witnessing are the effects of the use of primary, secondary and tertiary education as vehicles to transform society. Education is a target for anyone trying to alter the direction of any society, and it has been used successfully since WWII to push an agenda.

The generation having children during and after WWII were sold on the idea that their children needed to have a university education in order to be successful in the world and live better than their parents. There was some truth in that, particularly if their children went on to get degrees that documented marketable and useful skills. It’s gone much astray though, partially by design, and the results have been devastating in many ways.

_____________
With the dismissal of the case against the DNC for fixing the primary, the progs have lost the Berners, So, at best, that is *firm control* of maybe ~25% of the population. Could be less.

Agree with all your other points. We need to change the party from the grassroots upward. Let the progs form a 3rd party...it’ll keep them busy.

I was going to give a fairly generic response to this but as I read through all the well thought out posts; I realized anything I said would sound minuscule and trite compared to what has already been said.

FRiends, you guys and gals rock!!

Sometimes our future is unclear, downright muddied in fact, but we do have a good future ahead of us if we choose to embrace it. I do and hope you are gonna go along for the ride too.

If you have chosen to; thank you!!

HellLOOOOOOOOOO. In case you had not noticed it, your precious GOP "unity uber alle" mantra is utter bullshit. We'd rather have an independent thinker like Mr. Trump in office than one of your RINO pukes. Your little pink RINO ponies McCain, Romney, Jeb!, and Rubio were exposed for the liberal traitors that any free-thinking grass-roots conservative has known them to be all along.

Screw your GOP for the abysmal, treasonous, globalist failure that it has become. We're either going to return the party to its foundation, or burn it to the ground.

It's too late to call us to unity behind yet another of your establishment hacks, so you may as well sit down and shut up. or get the hell out of the way. I don't care either way. But the GOP will die the death it deserves- the death for which it has signed its own warrant the moment it chose to abuse the people who gave it power in the first place.

Sorry, you don’t seem to realize Paul Ryan has personally insulted YOU. He’s just fine with a leftist thug wrapping a 2x4 around YOUR “Nazi” skull at a tea party rally.

POTUS has shown us there no difference between progressive Republicans like Collins and Murkowski and the Democrat Party.

Why should I support a political party that does not respect my vote? Why should I support a political party that validates organized left wing violence against me?

Wake up and smell the coffee, FRiend. Main Street has been utterly abandoned by the GOPe.

Impossible. Trump has shown we can win as many elections as we want but the answer will always be FU from the K Street Republicans and the Deep State. Proceed accordingly, FRiend.

The GOP control in TX is blocked by the “Republican” House Speaker, who votes mostly Democrat.
