GREEN BAY — Green Bay Packers President and CEO Mark Murphy released a statement on Saturday, September 23rd in reaction to statements made by Pres. Donald Trump on Friday.

The president said he would love to see NFL owners fire players who kneel during “The Star-Spangled Banner.” Several athletes, including a handful of NFL players, have kneeled to protest treatment of blacks by police.

Offensive and Divisive claimed Mark Murphy. I guess having a Packer player give the black power salute is not offensive.

Only a leftist loon would consider spitting on our flag and taking a knee to be a “Dignified” act..what the hell has happened to our country has everyone gone insane. If these same people hate America so much, think we are so evil that’s fine they are free to LEAVE AT ANY TIME

It’s this simple:

Athletes, actors, entertainers, and the rest of the elite have the right to protest and say the most vile crap they want. It is their right.

We, the people (including the President) who enrich them with our hard earned and highly taxed entertainment dollars have the right to reject them.

Therein lies the rub. The elite see this as a one way street.

Donald Trump basically stood up and did the equivalent of telling the world that McDonalds hamburgers taste like dog droppings. It doesn't get much more humiliating than that, and McDonalds would have to respond even if they knew damn well that their hamburgers were made of 5% real beef and 95% dog crap.

I'll tell you what has these owners so upset. It has nothing to do with Trump's allegedly "divisive" and "offensive" comments about telling an S.O.B. player that he's fired. It was his suggestion that maybe fans should just walk out of the stadium.

This is the end of the NFL.

Vince Lombardi would have beaten Kapernick and his ilk to within an inch of his life for not standing for the national anthem and then benched him for the rest of his career.

They don’t have the “ right” to pull that crap on our time and our dime at a football game
If they don’t want to honor our country let em stay in the locker room during opening
Then let em go down to St Louis and take a knee for heroin dealers on their own time

They misunderstand freedom of speech. They have the right to express themselves, but their words will cost them in the marketplace where they sell their entertainment. “Free” speech of this nature may turn out to be the most expensively rude political commentary in history, and I find their impending bankruptcy far more entertaining than what is left of NFL games.

“divisive” and “disunity” and “disrespect” are embodied in the words and behaviors of SJW a-holes like Kaeperdick and his ilk.

It is hilarious to see Goodell and other NFL bureaucrats try to attack President Trump on such grounds. Trump is OBJECTING to the people who have been divisive and disrespectful. It is the SJWs who undermine “unity”....

Green Bay Packers are owned by the city, yes?

which means that the CEO is most likely a political putz.

There was a NBA player who tried this in the ‘70’s. He was Muslim and refused to stand for the anthem. He said he couldn’t because of his religious beliefs and that the flg stood for oppression. He was suspended without pay. He gave up after one game and stood from then on.

Smith added, “The line that marks the balance between the rights of every citizen in our great country gets crossed when someone is told to just ‘shut up and play.'”

Disclaimer: I used to love NFL football. I haven't watched a game in the 21st Century.

I would like to read about more, many more NFL players taking a knee. People like Smith should tell the fans to shut up and buy tickets or watch the games on TV.

These guys are just going to keep digging.
They don’t get it, and they are phony cowards if they do happen to get it.
Wait till all the lawsuits come.
They are about to be cannibalized.
They can’t fire anyone!

“As Americans, we are fortunate to be able to speak openly and freely.”

Very true. And President Trump, and everybody else, is fortunate to be able to speak openly and freely about what is said openly and freely by others.

It looks as though the Leftists fools think, if they speak first, can express themselves unopposed.

Watching football commit suicide rather than respect the USA. What the hell does the NFL or the national anthem have to do with local police shootings? Not a damn thing.
