Absolutely no compromise or middle ground exists on this issue. You can NOT disrespect the anthem and the flag of a nation and the nation hold together. Such would NOT be tolerated in Mexico, by the way.

Sports fans are a special breed and it takes tons to drag them away. Remember the baseball strikes? Fans were back the next week after saying they would never attend another game. This will be a hard nut to crack.

The easiest, fastest way for President Trump to kick the NFL, *hard*, is to direct the IRS to change the tax-free status of municipal bonds, which are *supposed* to be used for infrastructure, from being used to subsidize the building of stadiums or as tax incentives to sports teams. Everything that is still legitimate for muni bonds remains tax free. But NOT stadiums or tax breaks.

This does not need to be done retroactively, but means that in the future, the billionaires who own the NFL can still sucker local and state governments to build them stuff and pay them, *BUT BONDHOLDERS WILL HAVE TO PAY INCOME TAXES ON THE INTEREST EARNED FROM THOSE BONDS*.

Which means that such bonds will have to be competitive with commercial bonds. This will cost the billionaires who run the NFL BILLIONS OF DOLLARS.

And with this rule change, they will squeal like stuck pigs.

Last year freed up a lot of spare time. This year has (and will) as well.

I’ve been reading comments on articles. As you would guess, it’s about 50-50, which is where you land in anything that gets politicized. The half that disapprove almost all are acting on their anger. Turning off NFL, not going to games, burning jerseys, burning tickets and I saw one group sharing a list of NFL sponsors to boycott. Commenters identifying as Military, Police or Fire Dept veterans are in particular pissed off. Wonder how the players will feel about their protest when the salary cap gets slashed due to revenue loss?

Interesting to note. The League does have a rule on the matter. Page 62 and 63. If they would have followed this rule in the beginning, they wouldn’t find themselves in this crap storm.

“The National Anthem must be played prior to every NFL game, and all players must be on the sideline for the National Anthem. During the National Anthem, players on the field and bench area should stand at attention, face the flag, hold helmets in their left hand, and refrain from talking. The home team should ensure that the American flag is in good condition … It should be pointed out to players and coaches that we continue to be judged by the public in this area of respect for the flag and our country. Failure to be on the field by the start of the National Anthem may result in discipline, such as fines, suspensions, and/or the forfeiture of draft choice(s) for violations of the above, including first offenses.”

We are watching the NFL dissolve right before our eyes.

Has this gotten down to the collegiate level yet?

I haven't watched football in a while, mostly golf, and if it has hit the college ranks as well, football is pretty much done.

It’s over Now. As a previous purchaser of NFL ticket I quit that last year when Kapercrack started this lunacy and have not watched a game since.

WHO exactly are these "Black victims" they say they are "honoring"? At least half of them were criminals, thugs or drug dealers, such as Michel Brown, Trayvon Martin and Freddie Gray. Sandra Bland hung herself. If she was mentally ill, why didn't her family tell police? She was stoned and yelled and screamed at cops for hours. This has NOTHING to do with race or "oppression" or "police racism."

And if Black "victims" are their focus, why aren't they kneeling for the 10 Blacks murdered in Chicago last weekend?

Huh. While the NFL spent their Sunday putting down a knee, another three people were killed in Chicago. Wonder how many of the 473 people shot so far this year there might not have been had these players instead chose to bring awareness to the never ending shootings in Chicago instead of their pretty empty and meaningless current protest.

I do know one thing, we’ll never find out.

Don’t be surprised - they won’t

The arrogant, disconnected attitudes of the NFL, and its players, have been many years in the making.

Being typical monopolists and crony-capitalists, Roger Goodell and the NFL owners want fly-over Americans to buy their products, but they have totally conformed to the attitudes of our leftist elites, who pay for their stadiums and live with them in the media.

So... I have Amazon Prime and the Thursday Packers-Bears game is going to be free for me. Haven’t watched in a long time.

Trying to figure out which would send a bigger impact. Leave it completely off or tune in until they start the protest and then turn it off. I’m sure they will be able to track the figures on how many are streaming. If we could get enough prime folks to start and then stop might send a little more message???

Thoughts?

A movement to boycott this season’s Super Bowl and its sponsors must start NOW.

Although nearly all Pittsburgh players, except for the patriotic Alejandro Villanueva — who saluted the anthem — stayed in the locker room rather than go out on the field, the team shall be known henceforth as . . .

THE PITTSBURGH KNEELERS!!!

As usual, the Mainstream Media is portraying it much differently. They’re portraying this as a noble civil rights fight that’s right up there with the Selma marches, and Kap as being MLK and Malcolm X all rolled into one.

You may be right that it’s all over, but there is going to be a LOT of dragged-out kicking and screaming by SJW groups such as Antifa and BLM along the way.

I swear, if I read one more shrill article asking the question: Is THIS the final nail in tRUMP’s coffin? one more time, I’m going to gag.

Ohhhh lawdy! Pleeeyuz Madame Pres’dunt! Say-uhve us awl!
