Tanker?

Go to 3 minutes in. Can clearly here the first few shots (.308) the Sheriff says were aimed at the airplane fuel tanker near the concert.
The steady firing starts at 3:50, but sounds like a shot or two goes off at the same time as the steady firing starts.

How can you tell from that where the first shots (or any of them) were aimed?
Usually they claim that within seconds of an incident happening.

That certainly seems to indicate he was taking aimed shots at something specific.
Do these shots account for the missing high powered rifle the official shooter purchased just before the terror attack?
Were these shots fired by an accomplice who killed the patsy before the cops broke into his room?
I can clearly see the strobe light around the 4th floor going well before any shots fired. That puts to rest a second shooter there anyway.

There are two or three shots (as the story says). Who knows what they were aimed at. Some time goes by (20-30 seconds?) then the “automatic” fire starts. Already the crowd was fleeing, but I wouldn’t say in abject panic. The guy on the microphone says “get down” right about then. The crowd exits VERY fast, but again, not panic with people being trampled.
There are long, intermittent gaps where he is not firing.
TO ME-—and you can debate this-—it sounds like he isn’t firing more than a few hundred rounds total, contrary to the several thousand rounds needed to kill/wound that many people. By the five minute mark-—unless the microphones aren’t picking it up, he has more or less stopped shooting.
So he killed or wounded 560 people in less than 8 minutes of actual firing? Maybe only 5? Help me out here.
I’ve not seen a listing of the guns recovered from the room, have you?
The first single shots sound like a larger caliber weapon and there are a couple at the same time as what sounds like the 5.56 bumpfire.

There was at least 10 minutes of sporadic automatic or semi-automatic firing. You can still hear it as the man walks back to his hotel.
I’m amazed at how calm this guy is. Doesn’t even have labored breathing. I was hoping to see some muzzle flashes but never did.
We simply don't know how many people were shot. The killed/wounded numbers clearly include people who were crushed, trampled, etc.
We really don't know how many shots were fired either. I suspect it is less than "thousands". I don't see why he needed to shoot thousands of rounds to hit that many people. In a crowd that size, it's hard to miss.
More than one jammed AR were found in the room.

Interestingly it did not show real crowd “panic.” Urgency, but I didn’t see real crazed panic. Have to see how many shot.

I may be wrong but I don’t think people were crushed/trampled.
I imagine a lot of the injured were pieces of concrete flying that had been chipped by bullets, sprained ankles, etc. from jumping over fences, skinned knees from hitting concrete and stuff like that.
I didn’t see panic, crushing and trampling in any of the videos.
yes that’s correct the tanker was sitting across from the hotel. Did you miss the news?
