That much is true, LHO lacked the intellect to pass as a Russian, much less a KGB spy. He was persona non grata to the Soviets.

If I had my own theory, it might be that Oswald was groomed as an useful idiot by the CIA. He would be molded by his handlers for whatever job they felt necessary.

His USSR trip & Ruskie wife could be used to blame the USSR.
His Mexico City/Cuban embassy trip could be used to blame Castro.

If he had been actually working for either govm’t, they would have seen to his escape or death prior to capture. Instead, he gets popped by a low-life mob associate while in custody. The final untimely coincidence of his ‘solo plan.’

There’s a completely separate document FOIA request on the CIA agent Joannides file. It has been blocked for 14 years. His propaganda campaign and psy-ops project at JMWAVE would likely fill in much of the missing pieces of this puzzle.

Jack Ruby was a low life bar/strip club owner, he liked JFK a lot and was very upset that someone killed “my president.” He also was “friends” with many police officers in the downtown Dallas police precinct.

As irresponsible and ridiculous as it seems now, Ruby had a habit of dropping in and wanderng around the downtown police precinct office, visiting his “friends,” getting into secure areas where he shouldn’t have been in. He routinely carried a concealed hand gun because his strip club business. I’m sure the Dallas police knew and didn’t care if he carried his gun into the precinct office. In 1963, this kind of lack of security was not uncommon. These were much more innocent less violent times.

Ruby found out through chit chat with the police that they were going to move Oswald, and Ruby found out which path the police would take as they escorted Oswald. Ruby, because of his “friends” in the police department, was allowed to stand in the passageway where Oswald walked by, he had asked if he could see Oswald. His good old boy police friends let him, they didn’t see the harm.

So when Ruby shot Oswald, it was a shock and EXTREME embarassment for the police, their good old boy lax security measures led to Ruby shootng Oswald. I have no doubt that they scrambled and probably at first tried to cover up their negligence in maintaining security around Oswald.

Jack Ruby was another loser who puffed himself up because he could freely wander in and out of the police offices in Dallas. He impulsively and angrily shot Oswald, he liked JFK a lot.

Again, go back and read the current editions of “Case Closed” and “Reclaiming History”. Both books thoroughly debunk the notion that Ruby shot Oswald on behalf of others (and specifically the Mafia) who were part of a larger cover-up conspiracy.

Not likely, at least one person who knew him made it very clear he spoke very fluent Russian. If he did seem like he lacked intellect, he was most likely faking it.

And besides, Pacepa made very clear he was married to a KGB Colonel’s niece and also had a Historic Diary.
