Humans love dogs more than their fellow man.
Two major studies showed that mankind has more empathy for pooches in dire circumstances than suffering people, according to a report in the Times of London.
A UK medical research charity staged two phony donation campaigns one with a dog and the other featuring a man. Of course, the pooch drew more contributions.
Would you give pounds 5 to save Harrison from a slow, painful death? the separate ads said, featuring a canine and human Harrison.
Then a Northeastern University study showed that only a baby human could compete with mans best friend.
Students were showed fake newspaper clippings about a baseball-bat attack on a puppy, an adult dog, a year-old infant and 30-year-old adult. They were asked questions to gauge their empathy and the adult finished last in sympathy.
Respondents were significantly less distressed when adult humans were victimized, in comparison with human babies, puppies and adult dogs, according to Northeastern researchers. Only relative to the infant victim did the adult dog receive lower scores of empathy.
They must have surveyed Mrs. POF. I’m way down on the list, I think.
[a Northeastern University study showed that only a baby human could compete with mans best friend]
Tell that to the 5 million babies who have been aborted in America.
“Humans” don’t.
Just creepy weirdos.
People have more control of their own situation. They get their own asses in trouble. A baby has adults to take care of them-not always.
I’ve gotten to the point where I would just assume hang with any dog, cat,or horse than the typical person.
I don’t find that surprising at all. Down-and-out humans have the capability of helping themselves and are (usually) somewhat responsible for getting themselves in whatever situation they’re in. Dogs aren’t.
“Ive gotten to the point where I would just assume hang with any dog, cat,or horse than the typical person”.
Bumper sticker:
{THE MORE I GET TO KNOW SOME PEOPLE THE MORE I LOVE MY DOG]
Aside from my family and those I consider close friends, this pretty much applies to me. I love my dog more than most people.
I’d change some to vast majority.
It’s been said, “If you lock your dog and your wife in the trunk of your car and come back three hours later, one of them will be happy to see you.”
A friend spent $1200 on cataract surgery for her 12 year old dog and I was thinking how many kids you could feed or clothe for that much money.
Dogs are property.
They are essentially loyal and willing slaves.
It does not surprise me that people would love loyal and willing slaves more than competent competitors.
I think this nay be because, even though we live in a post modern world where so many deny Judeo-Christian values and standards of right and wrong, most people still know deep down that there really is a standard of right and wrong. Dogs and cats, babies and small children are innocent. Thus more likable. The rest of us are not.
Dogs love completely unconditional.
If people want to compete with dogs, they need to lick more faces. Like Andy Dick...
Whoa cats are not included in the discussion
