FULL TITLE: Fears grow for Texas girl, 15, who left a goodbye note to her parents and vanished with her passport after connecting with an older 'predator' from California on Snapchat
The family of a 15-year-old girl who has been missing since Sunday fear she may be with a much older man she met on Snapchat.
Heaven Ray Cox from Mauriceville, Texas vanished on Saturday afternoon.
Her parents said it was usual for the teenager to sleep in late at the weekend, but when they went to check on her she was gone.
They now fear she may have been abducted or ran away by a man she met on social media, the Beaumont Enterprise reports.
Police were notified of her disappearance on November 26 and are working to assess the potential connection with the unidentified predator.
Heaven's mother, Tammy, has posted on Facebook about her daughter's disappearance.
She wrote: 'The man she has been talking to is a predator, who has apparently been manipulating her for some time, and in her current state of mind, she believes that he is her friend.

Could I get a Texas Ping for this child please?
This is why my kids were not allowed to have a computer in their room.
They have access to them at school, library, and on their phones.
You as a parent must watch them like a hawk because predators are out like never before.
Luckily, We were pre-smart phones.
Those with information are asked to call the Orange County, Texas sheriff’s office at 409-883-2612.
“Luckily, We were pre-smart phones.”
One Ringy Dingy...
“This is why my kids were not allowed to have a computer in their room.”......
Under no circumstances should they then have a cell phone. They no longer NEED a computer, the cell phones are portable, go anywhere, do anything devices.
Pray for that girls safety and “awakening”, that predator is NOT her friend.
Police say that a note indicates Heaven might have been heading to California.
Tammy also wrote earlier tonight that Heaven's passport was missing.
Previously, Tammy wrote that Heaven suffers from bipolar disorder and might be off her medication.

She met him on Snapchat ... so probably used a cell phone instead of a computer.
I keep constant vigil (but probably should do more) on my kids' phone use and share these types of stories with them. Will share this one too.
Forget California then ... they're probably in Mexico already.
“Under no circumstances should they then have a cell phone.”
after 911 I’d want my kids having a cell phone on them at all times. When I want to reach my kid I want to reach my kid.
Plus you can’t really find a pay phone these days, they have gone by the way of the dinosaur.
Same here. Plus, they didnt own cellphones and used ours when they went out and about.
Then roll the dice and take your chances. I trust you have good kids and care for them dearly and I also suspect the missing young ladies parents feel likewise about their daughter. Pray for her safety
For kids...flip phones only without internet access. Sometimes they do need to call home, bit they don’t NEED the rest. If your kid is that unstable, home school.
In the meantime, what a horror for this family. I hope they find her quickly, safe and sound.
My daughter, who was 14 at the time(2015), had just been given a phone because of school and sports activities.
Almost immediately we noticed close to 2000 texts to a number we didn’t know.
We confronted her and she said the number belonged to a 16 boy she meet over an app called Kik, which I had never heard of.
We had the telephone number and I managed to trace it to an address in California and then I found the number over Google was attached to a site called “Pop my cherry.com”
The dude that owned the phone was a 30 something named Juan.
I immediately contacted the local FBI office and the local police and switched out the smart phone for a basic phone.
I also waited for this jerk to call and when he did I told him I knew his name, address, and employer and if he ever contacted my child again I would show up at his address (which I told him) and make sure he would not be able to call anyone again.
The local police told me this was not the first parental report on a guy named Juan who was active on Kik.
Kids are naïve and parents must be vigilant. And armed.
