California governor blames devastating wildfires on climate change and says
Daily Mail ^ | December 10, 2017 | Keith Griffith

California's governor has said that deadly wildfires in the winter will be 'the new normal', as fire crews rushed to contain the fires, with dry desert winds expected to intensify over the weekend.

Governor Jerry Brown on Saturday toured Ventura County neighborhoods ravaged by a weeklong wildfire that killed at least one person and destroyed hundreds of homes and other buildings.

At a news conference, the Democrat said drought and climate change mean California faces a 'new reality' where lives and property are continually threatened by fire, at a cost of billions of dollars.

He added that gusty winds and low humidity are continuing and warned that there's a good chance of seeing 'firefighting at Christmas'.

He said it will take 'heroic' efforts in the US and abroad to stem climate change and urged US lawmakers to pay more attention to dealing with natural disasters such as fires, floods and earthquakes.

Over the past week, six major wildfires have forced more than 200,000 people to flee and choked the air across much of the region.

Forecasters predict wind gusts to become more intense by Saturday night, challenging the 8,700 firefighters who have been battling the fast-moving blazes for five days.

Of course he would say that!
No mention of be tens of thousands of homes built in the past few decades in formerly unbuilt areas of a very fire prone landscape.
But yes climate change; it’s the cause!

Less than a year ago dams in California were in danger of failing due to huge rain that has occurred in the past and will occur in the future. How does he explain this relative to "Global Warming?"

In Texas we just call it weather!

In Jerry Browns addled mind if it is to hot, to cold, to wet or to dry it is all because of an unproven science of man made global warming.

Governor Brown is either an idiot or a lying charlatan, but I suspect a bit of both.

Combine that flammable biomass with careless fires started by illegal migrants and homeless camps.

If I were an home insurance company, the only way I would insure any home there is if the zoning requires ALL brush to be removed away to a point of many feet from any building, and, that all houses be roofed with tile roofs.

In this day, there are machines that can be used to grind that brush on site.

Many are on the market. 4 way tilt and they can go nearly right straight up a hill.

I blame Governor Moombeam’s thought processes on too much acid when he was dating Linda Ronstadt.

“What started this fire?”

I don’t know, but perhaps the question should be “Who started these fires?” At least some of them must be arson.

his infrastructure management is pathetic, dams, wild brunch, roads. Now he blames wild fires on global warming. He uses 20 billion of our tax money on services to illegals. The pension fund is a disaster. But if you watched 60 minutes tonight you’d see he is running for sainthood.

Time to give the saw mills a chance make use of the
timber instead of letting it burn, the loggers would
build access roads that fire fighters could use and
Could spot fires quicker.

But I have no doubt that a liberal would much rather
see the lumber burn up.

Smiling. YES, and the best part is that my daughter from the Cayman’s is also relocating to MS. She and her new husband plus the one young grandson of mine (13) are moving into my house to “care for me.” She made a real estate killing after 30 years on that island with the sale of her house and property! She said she will take me everywhere I want to go: Washington, DC to the Holocaust Museum, POTUS’s new hotel, (the Old P.O.; NYC, and W.VA! (((WVNan)))
I can’t move until the end of summer ‘18. She’s moving in January ‘18 to oversee the kitchen remodeling...LOL.
