I’ve long been a fan of Streep’s, and up until recently she kept her politics mostly to herself. That has changed, and it has alienated me somewhat. As other posters have noted, she couldn’t resist throwing in Ailes and O’Reilly with Weinstein. Why not mention all the liberals who have gotten into trouble; there seem to be more of them. Recently, in the “Times,” Selma Hayek wrote a piece about her abuse at the hands of Weinstein. It was a good piece, but she couldn’t resist a passing swipe at Trump. Why do these people have to politicize everything?

So even if we take Streep’s words as the truth that she didn’t know about Weinstein’s raping and sexual molestation of women in the industry, what kind of a human being praises a child rapist? It appears that she has it in her to condemn sexual abuse of women when the spotlight is shined on her, but the most innocent among us, children, are fair game for child predators as long as the pervert is an “artist” in her totally jaded industry. She can’t possibly claim that she didn’t know about Polanski and his proclivities. Shameful!
