I saw an article on one of the news sites, that the earth’s rotation is slowing down, so we could expect big earthquakes.

Maybe progressives could start rollerskating in the same direction as the earth’s rotation, and speed it up a little. Makes about as much sense as what Bill Nye, the Stupid Guy has come up with.

86-87 I was training at Ft. Devens, MA. It wasn’t very nice. Back then, though, we just called it “Winter.” Now, everything is an event.

Where the hale is Al Gore and his fellow warmers when you need them?

Seems like Al keeps his head down to avoid incoming shots when the temperatures drop into the below freezing range.

Hard to argue global warming is going to destroy the planet when most everyone in the US is wishing we could get a some of that global warming is their neighborhood right about now.

Well, I know I don’t have to worry, because Al Gore promised me I’d be dead from gerbil worming before this happened.

"I saw an article on one of the news sites, that the earth’s rotation is slowing down, so we could expect big earthquakes."

We could see twice as many big earthquakes this year, scientists warn — because the equator has shrunk

I’m in the target zone...

“A major winter storm is expected to affect New Brunswick Thursday.

Long range models are coming into better agreement with the track of this storm. Current guidance shows it approaching from the southwest and passing over western Nova Scotia Thursday night. Potential impacts from this storm include possible power outages, deteriorating travel conditions or delays, and potential school disruptions.

Precipitation: Snow will develop Thursday near noon and spread northward across the province with a changeover to rain possible in the southeast* Thursday night. Snowfall estimates of 20 to 40 cm are expected for most of the province.

Wind: Northeasterly winds will strengthen with gusts near 90 km/h along coastal areas late Thursday afternoon or evening. The winds will shift Thursday night and strong northwesterly winds will persist across the province. Strong winds combined with snow will give poor visibilities in blowing snow during the storm.

Storm Surge: Potential for coastal impacts along the Bay of Fundy and Gulf of St. Lawrence shorelines from large waves and elevated water levels.”

*that’s me. I’m not sure if rain is good or bad.
Followed closely by freezing temps, not good. Combined with power outages, yuck.

Today, dec 2nd it was 50F, in Big Lake Alaska.
Thats 11 miles north of Wasilla, or as the raven flies about 35 miles north of Anchorage.

Melted virtually all the snow from my roof and sheds, periodic rain right now and maybe some light snow tomorrow.
Quite a bit warmer the last two months, hardly any snow.

Usually its not warmer than 10 above, instead its near 30f.

Only had a couple of nights of sub zero temps.

stay warm Freepers. Maybe the younguns will gain a new appreciation for the harsh and stark conditions that kept much of America unsettled to begin with and that determined American settlers endured to conquer this country.

And leading up to your event, right now we got snow about to hit New Orleans and Gainesville. At least west Texas warms above freeezing today. That was 4 days in the ice box for us.

Wind chills about -25.

I don’t want to make you feel bad, but at almost 5 PM, it’s a balmy 79 degrees. We just returned from Waterworld, complete with a karaoke machine. 😀😄 We went here for the afternoon. It was hard to take. 😊😀
