Assange has come up in some interviews with Trump, and I recall that Trump really doesn't like Assange one bit.
Assange is a bit of an egocentric guy, and he will publish any stolen material regardless of the potential damage it might cause. As CIC, Trump cannot condone this sort of activity or we'll wind up with more fools like Bradley Manning looking for their 5 minutes of fame.
The only way Assange could curry favor with Trump would be to spill the goods on how he got the DNC emails (Seth Rich?) and perhaps some other sources.... but Assange still refuses to do that.
It’s always important to remember Assange is an anarchist. There has been a “convergence of interests” vs-a-vs Assange & Trump/”Deplorables” at some point that will stop. Whether Assange can get a pardon out of that “for services rendered (or something like that!)” remains to be seen. Whether he should because his good deeds done out weigh his bad (But remember he’s not gong to stop!) or shouldn’t is worth a discussion.
