FULL TITLE: Who pushed the button? Anger in Hawaii over Civil Defense bungle that told terrified islanders a MISSILE was rocketing towards them causing thousands to flee to bomb shelters and pray for their lives
Anger is spreading in Hawaii after a Civil Defense bungle on Saturday morning, when a mistaken alert warning of an inbound ballistic missile sent thousands fleeing for shelter.
Panicked Hawaiians ran for their lives and even lowered loved ones through manhole covers after receiving the alert at 8.07am local time.
It read: 'BALLISTIC MISSILE THREAT INBOUND TO HAWAII. SEEK IMMEDIATE SHELTER. THIS IS NOT A DRILL'.
A similar message flashed up on local television networks and brought live sports games to a halt. Actor Jim Carrey, like many others, said he woke up thinking he had 'ten minutes to live'.
The false alarm was caused by a Hawaii Emergency Management Agency employee who 'pushed the wrong buttons' during an internal drill timed to coincide with a shift handover.
Incredibly, officials said the employee who made the mistake wasn't aware of it until mobile phones in the command center began displaying the alert.
'This guy feels bad, right. He's not doing this on purpose - it was a mistake on his part and he feels terrible about it,' said EMA Administrator Vern Miyagi in a press conference Saturday afternoon.
Miyagi, a retired Army major general, said the employee had been with the agency for 'a while' and that he would be 'counseled and drilled so this never happens again' - but stopped short of saying whether there would be disciplinary measures.

This should be a multi-key authorization procedure. Period. One person to hit the button after another or more persons enters their authorization codes. Total nonsense that one person can do this.
To help put things into perspective, the population of the state of Hawaii is only a million and a half.
The population of the (conservative) suburban county just west of Chicago where I hail from is just over a million.

I wonder how many People thought POTUS Trump launched a Nuclear Missile at Hawaii?
I am referring to the shootings at the Mandalay Bay hotel in November. There is video footage, police reports, etc. and even now no conclusion as to what actually happened. A total mystery just like the JFK assassination. Sometimes I get the feeling that they know the answer but want to keep the public guessing forever.
I lived in Hawaii for half of my life and still go back a couple of times a year to visit family and friends. The number of homeless during Obama exploded and the state has absolutely no plans to address the problem. They have turned a lot of public areas into actual shitholes with their open air defecation.

I call BS. They have 3rd level PR personnel on weekends, probably, and this is what they came up with. Seriously? One person, mistakenly can create an alert? And, possibly, cause much harm. Think about it. The possibilities of mayhem are almost endless. Murder, suicide, heart attack, strokes, trampling, looting and the list goes on......

When that happened with JFK (Warren Commission) it made me very uncomfortable. I felt that high ranking politicians had something to do with JFK’s death and I still feel that way today. I am afraid that we shall never find out what really happened in Dallas in 1963. I always found it strange that the Kennedy clan never insisted on getting to the truth. Were they afraid for someone or something?
Exactly. Trump justifies the mayhem of what would otherwise been seen as a mistake. Or Loretta Fuddy’s ghost did it.
Hopefully this push of the switch flipped Hawaii Republican. With the DemonRATs pushing back against President Trump’s treatment of Rocket Man, our nation’s security became a reality.
