Salon Magazine has called Norway one of the eight best countries to be an atheist, along with Sweden, Denmark, Japan and the Czech Republic, suggesting that Norways socially just government has effectively taken the place of God for many Norwegians.
In 2012, Norway eliminated Lutheranism as the official state church. The Evangelical Lutheran religion will no longer be the states official religion, parliament wrote in a statement, which meant that the church would receive public financing on par with other religious and belief-based societies.
Norways decline in religiosity has been constant. A year ago the number of Norwegian atheists equaled the number of believers for the first time, setting a new record for atheism in the country. Now they have attained clear numerical superiority.
The poll showed that men are less likely to believe in God than women and that older people are more likely to believe than younger generations, which suggests that faith will continue to fall. The countrys capital Oslo had the smallest portion of believers with just 29 percent.

Don’t you worry about those Norwegians! No siree. They may be Christians in name only, but they are bringing in a few people who will breed and replace them. People who hate Christians and believe in their religion.
The cross in their flag of Norway will be coming down, in about 4 years. So as to not offend their new masters, the m*slims they have been importing for years who are raping and killing them.
The State is now god in their world.
Bow down before the One you serve, damned fools.
The State giveth and the State taketh away.
Too bad. A great country will not last without God.
Firstly, the idea of a “state” church is the opposite of what believers want, I would hope. Secondly, I am curious why faiths get state funding at all. It corrupts both the state and the Church.
Yes which is why our founders (many of whom were fiercely Christian and fiercely Protestant) built our country on the First Amendment and religious freedom - lest we become embroiled in a papal debacle, or Spanish inquisitions (or even Salem witch trials)...and invite the King Henry VIII’s and Bloody Mary’s of the world to execute whomever they wish...
Our founders did not intend for the secular-progressive socialism as is practiced in countries like Norway today, where “secular Enlightenment” man-centered ideas as embodied in new age ecology movements and climate change dogmas have replaced European Christian traditions.
That is not the narrative we ever hear from the left. You would think the founders were anti-Christian.
