The new tapes are numbers 17, 19 and 20 that I recorded 9 April 2003. Tape 18 had been up. They include the CENTCOM Briefing, soldiers joining civilians trying to bring down the Saddam statue and actually bringing the statue down, and the Donald Rumsfeld Pentanon Briefing.

Do they contain any of the footage showing a multiple miles long train of vehicles leaving Iraq and headed into Syria? Many of those vehicles HAD to be carrying those oh-so-non-existent WMD.

I truly don’t know, Sam. It’s such a production to get the videos encoded and to edit out commercials that I don’t tend to watch them while I’m working on them.

My sad suspicion would be NOT, since I can’t remember anyone referencing seeing that train in news footage that we all heard described by the commentators. My memory is that these tapes are from FOX. I can’t remember channel changes showing up in them.

The video of that statue being pulled down was a staged propaganda event. The civilians were Kurds who were bussed in, not locals. There were not very many of them and the whole area was ringed with a huge number of US soldiers to keep the real local people away. It was a planned PR stunt.

I never heard that. Then it was a pretty good one, because it’s now famous. By the way, that’s the ONLY video of these news videos that claims its copyright for monetization, presumably because of the foreign footage.
