“Experts have developed a spray containing GM bacteria and hope to launch trials in Britain and the U.S. this year. “
“Details of the GM mouthwash were unveiled yesterday at the American Association for the Advancement of Science’s annual conference in Boston”
“The cost of the treatment would be less than £100 (US$141), he said.”
Had same thing - infection under teeth - no yank any of the teeth - get a different dentist or periodontist who is an oral surgeon.
raw garlic applied to 2 painful cavities for a few days and incredibly my cavities healed. Teeth are fine. Happened a few months ago.
At some point I get to spend about 3g’s for an implant.
The tooth has been broken for years and I avoid crunchy and chewy foods.
Dental implants are now the rage and a great replacement for dentures............if you can afford them.
Yep. Big in Florida. A bit expensive still but soon to be a regular procedure when they get costs down.
If this eventually makes it out, I wonder if they will eventually be able to remove old fillings and rebuild those teeth as well. Would seem that the only ones not repairable would be those with root canals or that have already been pulled.
You’ll still need cleaning before the “gel treatment”.
I think dentists attend the same kind of seminars veterinarians attend. These seminars have one purpose...teaching attendees how to squeeze more dollars out of their customers.
The other day at the vet...”Did you know dogs can get the flu? While the flu isn’t transmissible from humans to dogs, it is a horrible flu season for humans, so...why take a chance? We just happen to have canine flu vaccine on hand, and this will be all we get this year. Do you want to protect your dog?”.
Dentists are the same way. “Hey, we have some of this nifty new spray for oral hygiene. One spritz and your mouth smells fresh all day. You can’t get this at the drug store...it’s only available at dental offices. How about a bottle?”
I get the point! My dental hygienist keeps my right ear comfortably warm the entire session.
So true. So much of dentistry is still in the dark ages. Its actually shocking.
I healed cavities in myself and kids by remineralizing teeth through good diet rather than destroying the teeth with fillings. A great book for doing so is by Ramiel Nagel, called cure tooth decay. Such a wonderful man with great knowledge about teeth and nutrition, sad he died young of brain stem cancer.
(Dirty secret that nutrition getting to your bones and teeth is more important than brushing your teeth)
Ha! Nice!
Well, I HAVE been trying to save him.
;)
I want to be able to grow fangs. That would be soooooo cool.
I’d bet that would be a serious sub-market.
I saw 3. Had MRI’s too. They agreed that the the infection could come back if they did not remove the 2 teeth.
They said 60% effective so 40% chance it could come back if I did not.
Teeth were yanked and the implant planted.
