During his campaign, Trump revved his crowds by having them chant, “Build the wall.” Then he would slap on the false campaign promise of the century by stating ‘Mexico would pay for the wall.’
Perhaps the president was just “playing chess” with his loyal supporters? Perhaps the reality TV star turned president should have created the chant, “Build the fence,” because that’s what a new proposal is reportedly declaring.
According to Breitbart, a senior official claims the White House was scheduled to request $3 billion in funding for President Donald Trump’s long-promised wall on the Southern border. However, the requested funding will be used for 18-foot bollard fences, not structures similar to the new 30-foot prototype walls recently built in San Diego.
The estimated $3 billion boost in funding for the wall was described as a “downpayment” by an official briefing a small group of reporters.
Modern presidential budgets are seen as a political document, detailing a wish-list of how they would like to see Congress spend money.
The request would help construct 124 miles of new bollard wall structures in the Rio Grande valley in Texas. The $3 billion would be primarily used to procure steel and purchase land in preparation for construction.
Land acquisition, especially from private landowners in Texas, would take considerable time, the official noted, but they were operating on an “accelerated” timeline.
The structures would differ depending on the terrain, but would largely follow the same model as existing structures on the southern border.

The wording has a serious anti-Trump slant. Would sure like to know who this is.
They can’t name the official who briefed reporters?
Tax the money sent to Mexico.
Someone proposed what I thought was the best design I’d seen yet. It consists of a fence, a paved road, a wall with a berm behind it, and another paved road atop the berm. The whole design allows for quick response, and you can see over the wall (and fence) from atop the berm. Both roads have turnouts where you can easily park and observe.
Israel has a combination of walls and fences depending on location.

There is no intention to build a wall along the river. The wall would go from El Paso to San Diego.
Yeah, the tv star thing was a hobby. It certainly doesn’t define who he is.
Won’t surprise if we don’t even get a fence.
I never even expected a wall.I know full well that everybody who runs for office lies to get votes.
I doesn’t matter either. This nation was past the pointbof no return well before the election. What we are seeing now is the last gasps of a dying patient.
To me we don’t need a wall and could do something more effective that wouldn’t cost a dime. Make it a felony to hire an illegal or house an illegal. That’s it. But that will never happen because the RAT/RINO party would shriek racism non stop.
Electrified razor wire not enough?
That was a great rallying cry at Trump's campaign events. The odds are very little of it will be built. The majority of Congresscritters answer to the Globalist Cheap Labor Express cabal.
Or to contract with agencies that hire illegals.
An 18 ft fence is a lot better than nothing.
