Here in NYC, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) needed to build new electric substations for their commuter rail lines that were damaged during Hurricane Sandy. Construction on one of those substations was well underway when the MTA decided it should be bigger. Not having the room for the enlargement, they approached the neighboring residential property owner and offered to buy part of his yard for their expansion. He refused.
The MTA immediately went into court, had that portion of the property condemned and acquired it through Eminent Domain.
The MTA was busy at work on that said property WITHIN A COUPLE OF WEEKS.
" ... acquisition ... would take considerable time ... ."
My azz!
Such a law would apply equally to an African negro, a lily-white Irishman, an Indian, Mexican or a Salvadoran. Therefore there is no racism involved, except in the minds of the left.
The MTA was busy at work on that said property WITHIN A COUPLE OF WEEKS.
But that's NYC; the property owner and a group of his neighbors were not resisting the takeover with the second amendment solution. Texas? Different deal!
Stop posting fake news.
Trust me, Texans who are being invaded will have no problem with the government building whatever they want on their land.
The goal is BORDER SECURITY.
Implementation details don’t matter as long as the goal is met.
1. He's a good listener.
2. He picks out the "best" from the job that is accomplished.
He is comfortable at a table...not so at a podium.
He's patient...but not too patient.
Gender is NOT a factor in his decisions.
Losers Lose and Winners Win.
Pragmatism should reign. Financially, the only way to go. Politics should play the initial part - the decision to build. From there, politics can only hinder (eg, opponents push to have walls where fences will do, fences where only a wall would work, in such a way as to kill the entire thing).
PLUS, I have to tell folks all the time that there are parts of Texas where there will be no man-made wall. God already did it. The walls of the Santa Elena canyon are on both sides of the Rio Grande...separated by yards.
They are 1500 feet tall in places. And mostly sheer. For example: Santa Elena Canyon
And...
The longer this drags out and nears the elections the less probable anything will done other than talking.
Unlawful presence in the country is not a crime. It is a violation of federal immigration law to remain in the country without legal authorization, but this violation is punishable by civil penalties, not criminal.
One of the former Fox News guests that was banned because he spoke his mind so he tried a show on Newsmax TV but was fired. He did a documentary on the border crisis.
DML?
They combine it with high tech and with patrols.
But that combination is necessary. Barrier + technology + patrol
100% correct. Thanks
Don't let the abdication of Constitution and legal duty of past open borders Democrat & RINO GOP Presidents deceive you. For border jumpers it is.

OK, no wall. How about a 10 foot wide barrier of a radioactive substance putting out more than 1000 REMS. Immigration problem takes care of itself in a few weeks.
After reading the article, and the underlying Breitbart article upon which he is commenting, his conclusion seems overstated.
The cost estimates were based on eighteen foot bollards (on which they have firm figures) - they do not state that will definitely go with that design.
We did learn, we are learning from the prototypes, in terms of materials and everything else, but I would say that our estimates are based on the actual wall that weve built at this point, the official said.
