South Africa and Rhodesia were economic sh*tholes until the Blacks took over from the Whites.
Now they are show pieces of the glory of Black rule.
(not that Whites and other races have much to brag about...they suck too, just happen to be the better looking horses at the glue factory....once infected if the political AIDS called “Liberalism”, a Society flushes itself down the toilet)
Sheesh! Not another “noble Blacks” movie?
Where it filmed anyhow?
Why not Chicago or Balitmore or Feguson, plenty of noble Blacks there.
Even if they had not been forced together, in all likelihood they would still have been raiding and warring with each other. Europeans were involved in wars with each other as well, but they managed to advance culturally and scientifically too.
And with no element of racism in my comment, it is still another “Black Power - Black people are great, Whites suck” movie that will win all the awards from the critics who hate America, and it will deservedly tank at the Box Office.
The difference is between reality and fiction.
I have nothing against this film and will probably end up seeing it cheap on DVD. It has gotten very good reviews, and from what I have heard it is not a political film, which would be a disaster for Marvel. The danger is from others such as this author trying to smother it in their own politics.
The backstory of Wakanda is that they posess the only "vibranium" mines, and used their money to send their best students to the best schools in the world, who came back and developed a highly advanced technological society.
In the sixties, Star Trek inspired a generation of nerds who wanted to be like Scotty or Spock and went to engineering schools. The result is we are walking around with iPhones wore capable than Kirk had.
If Black Panther inspires black kids to go into technical fields, great. I got no problem with it being inspiring.
All the nitwit hype for this movie seems designed to attract guilty white liberals. The truth is that this is a “black” movie, and it will mostly have a black audience, and any white people who show up will get what they deserve.
Not only is the movie designed to berate white people, but the mostly black audience will likely berate them as well, if not drive them out of the theater. And the conclusion is already foregone.
“White people are racist for not *wanting* to give us money see the movie!”
Pretty much the same deal for the miserable Ghostbusters remake. I think even some of the critics are seeing through this one. Damning with faint praise, or verbose with hidden meanings:
“A bold auteurist twist with an African extravaganza that packs a muscular intensity and challenges as much as it exhilarates.”
‘Auteurist’: “A movie director who has almost total control over their movies.” (So blame the director when it tanks.)
‘African extravaganza’: (A black movie with a big budget.)
‘Muscular intensity’: (A sweaty black movie.)
‘Challenges as much as it exhilarates’: (Attacks white people while blowing their stuff up.)
Totally agree. In the few areas where Brits or British-trained Indians still run things in Kenya and Tanzania, it is paradise.

Also, in Israel, any new residential town could pass for a new upscale American town in the desert areas of Arizona or New Mexico.
100 meters East, a “Palestinian” town would make Detroit look good.

With ~6000 tribes, the boundaries would have looked like splattered spaghetti. Tribalism lies at the root of Africa’s status. No unifying culture and the vast majority of the worlds language. Language is the basis of social achievement:

Hey, let’s import tribalism to America (the true definition of multiculturalism)!
Communist imperialism, Islamic imperialism, and black nationalist dictatorships are the ‘diversity’ that replaced so called Western imperialism.
It wasn’t imperialism that angered the Left. It was The West.
Tribalism is ‘good’ if you can claim to be descended from ancient royalty.
“Diversity” is just the modern term for “tribalism”. And tribalism is not a good thing.
That doesn’t mean that diversity avoided at all costs . But it does mean that diversity should not be celebrated. And it definitely should not be encouraged. The Founders were right. E pluribus unum.
In 50 years guilt tripping “liberals” will insist that Wakanda is real and not a fantasy.
