I originally intended to, but I didn’t want to jump the shark.
In a local paper (on line) there was an article about a multiple shooting and some of the letters to the editor were for more rules, laws etc etc.
I piped in with
“in view of the latest shooting and more that will inevitably happen, YOUR response is to take MY gun away”.
I have been around guns all my life, been concealed carry for over 50 years and have not only NOT shot anyone, I have never had to pull it in anger. BUT it is there should I need it.
Two things in life you should have nearby. A weapon and a parachute...YOU may never need either but if the time ever comes that you do, you more than likely will never need either again,
In closing, I guess your theory is if there are numerous rapes in the area, ‘they’ should cut YOUR tallywacker off, thereby ridding the world of the chance of YOU committing a rape”.
Some people didn’t really ‘endorse’ the foolishness but a couple seemed to think it was a workable idea.

When my boss’ daughter brought in her two toddlers into the office, his face broke out into the biggest smile I have ever seen.

Are we going to raise the legal alcohol drinking age to 25?
Are we going to raise the legal driving age to 25?
Are we going to raise the legal voting age to 25?
Are we going to raise the legal age of consent to 25?
Are we going to raise the legal age to enlist in the Armed Forces to 25?
Are we going to raise the legal age to sign a contract to 25?
Are we going to raise the legal age to get a Commercial Pilot’s License to 25?
Are we going to raise the legal age to get a Commercial Driver’s License to 25?
Well, you get where I am going with this: Are we going to raise the legal age to own a handgun, a rifle, a shotgun, a knife, a hammer, a crowbar, etc. etc. to 25?
No, we are not going to do any of that. What we have to do is start raising good citizens, such that by the time they are 18, they will act as adults and can be treated as adults.
We have done it before, and we can do it again!
I guarandamtee you that 18 year olds in 1915 were more mature than 18 year olds are today!
Tough times make for tough people, and we’ll probably find out what madem tough in 1915 before too long!
