I would suggest getting instruction starting with a .22 pistol with the .22 Aguilla Collibri round. It is low velocity and makes almost no noise. You can get aiming and trigger technique and then move up to what ever is your comfort level. I have never found anyone who is uncomfortable with the Collibri round and that is where I start people who have never sot a gun, and you do not even need ear muffs.
