As someone who was raised in the South, I always knew it was wrong to refer to second person plural as ‘you guys’. It leaves out the ladies. That is why we say, “ya’ll.”

Qantas staff were encouraged to use partner and spouse instead of husband and wife, and parents instead of mum and dad because it excludes some LGBTI families, according to the new advice.

They were also instructed to avoid using the words "eyes," "legs," and "hair" because they exclude blind people, amputees, and bald people.

They are allowed to use the word "as*hole," however, since everybody has one.
