They Don't Want To Have A Real Gun Conversation
Perhaps you could offer a brief summary of the video at the link?
The Delusional Lying Left is not interested in having ANY conversation about ANYTHING they hold dear because the Delusional Lying Left ALWAYS loses the debate in the forum of ideas.
They only believe in one thing: unlimited totalitarian global government. Nothing else matters to them, especially the truth.
He talks about who is and who is not invited to the 'conversation'. We aren't.
The same jackasses that blame ME for just BEING a military veteran, that blame ME for not thinking THEIR way, are the ones that blame ME when some darn motherloving fool, in another state, does something stupid with a firearm!!
They go to the immediate “Y’ALL” syndrome.
The unknowledgeable want to have a come-to-jeezus-browbeating session, like some folks’ family members (ahem), “WHY CAIN’T Y’ALL BE LIKE (X)?!?!? WHY Y’ALL GOTTA HAVE ONE-A-DEM THINGS ANYWAY?!?! “ without ever really listening because they have made up their mind that you are SHAT!!
Outstanding response, brother.
Of course they don’t want a real conversation. The core axiom is “just make them go away”, magical thinking which won’t entertain any possibility of guns having a valid place in society. The whole _point_ is to not discuss the problem, just “make it go away”.
I like to meet the faux “let’s have an open discussion about guns” with “ok, then let’s address the fact that practically all mass murders, not involving ‘Allah Akbar’, involve the murderer being on anti-depressants”. Their disinterest in pursuing that (or the ‘Akbar’ variant) shows they don’t want to have a real gun conversation.
Our problem is falling for the “let’s discuss it” bait hook-line-and-sinker every d@mn time. If they can’t articulate - legally & objectively in mechanical terms - the division between what guns they want to ban vs what remains legal, or articulate the notion that anyone who _does_ jump thru their hoops of “registration” and “background checks” and “training” does get a clear pass to own/carry (seems they view those as insurmountable obstacles), then they don’t want to discuss it.
No one marched against rainbow wedding cakes.
Perhaps we should have.
