I’m too old to take a stand on this, I guess, but I got married in 1972, at the height of the “hippie days”, and we were a hippie couple for sure. I don’t want to go into detail, as it gets kind of personal, but we got married, stayed married, had kids, had grandkids, and here we are.

That will go over even less well when a well off man insists a woman sign a prenup.

Just sayin.

Well...when she said she liked pickups, I thought she meant trucks.

All the points are true.

My wife is exceptionally loyal. I have been through the mill, have see. Layoffs, Reduction in Force, companies go bankrupt, factories close and even my department get transferred to India. She stood by my side every day. She supported me. The odds of finding a woman like my wife are remote, to the point of being ridiculous. This is the way a marriage should be.

Unfortunately very few women are like my wife. And I met many, many women before my wife came along. Most are exactly as this article says.

You most definitely should do that. Cover your six, and any man who would not agree to that is not a man you should marry anyway IMO. Lots of schemers out there.

I am going to clarify your points.

1. Men are resources, utility, to be used by the woman.

2. Women fall in love with mens money and status, not the man. They discard the man but the thing they have always loved, the money, that they keep around.

No someone could hack the robot to do that. A sex doll would never do that.

Written by a man of wisdom and insight.

sounds to me like it was written by a man whose lights just got clicked on after his first divorce. been there, done that, got the tee-shirt (a couple of 'em, actually)

Marriage is a sham. You make vows but don’t really have to honor them. Who signs a contract that can be cancelled by either party at any time? And what man wants to sign that contract where he’s likely to be paying money to her if things go bad?

Marriage is a 3-way contract as the State has inserted itself into the deal.

One of the very few.

Too few to make the risk worth it, for the man. No risk for her. Its all on you bud. And dont get sick, many guys have their wives divorce them - they never see t coming - when they get a serious illness because they wont take care of them and want some of the money hes earned for retirement for themselves.

Scariest divorce story I ever heard:

They decide to separate, wah, wah, okay, fine:

They have an informal arrangement where he comes over some weekends to pickup the kids.

He arrives at (her?) home, door is locked, no answer. Weird, cuz their understanding was so clear. In the distance he hears sirens, thinks nothing more of it. Ding dong, ding dong —weird! Still no answer.

Sirens getting closer, but no big deal, no answer to his knocking.

Wow, cops cars right around the corner.

Upstairs window opens, a hand drops something out, the thing clatters near his feet on the deck.

He picks up —A KNIFE...? So strange.

Cop cars power slide up on THEIR lawn, cops jump out, pistols drawn.

Women wearing towel bursts out of front door, “He was yelling he was going to KILL ME..!!! Said he’d stab me, that we’d BE TOGETHER, FOREVER..!”

Yes, her scam stuck, they divorced and yes, she got full custody and (more than) half his stuff.

Yes, he did go to jail.

Nice little scam, huh..?

Being a really stellar guy would provide ZERO defense against an airtight scam like that.

The family court system looks upon men as wallets with legs.

That alone is reason enough to forego marriage.

I hear you. If I dropped 50 years off instantly, would likely stay single from what I see of women these days.

Meanwhile, at 70 with a soul-mate (mostly) with me for almost 30 years, I am good where it is.

only the guy has to honor the marriage contract. if he breaks it no one tells him you go, guy! and asks the woman, what she did wrong. if she cheats, its girl power and collect half his cash and prizes, at least, get the kids and more cash and prizes. its a one sided contract. 80% of divorce is filed by women, they all see the vows as nonbinding.
