No, you’re wrong. There were a ton of articles and columns saying he would lose his pension. That’s because the source for all of them was the Dim liars wanting to generate sympathy for McCabe. Many people believed it.
All one had to do is go to the OPM site and read the pension rules. Too much work (research) for the average reporter.

Let’s not delude ourselves. America is ruled by the Five Cities, Boston, New York, Washington, Chicago, and Hollywood. The rest of us just pay taxes. The heart of the beast is New York, the Ivies being its nursery and Washington its storefront.
Where’s the advantage? Most Fed employees get 1% of their highest three years salary for every year they put in. So, to get that “only 50%” you claim is so horrible, a civilian FedGov employee would have to work nearly 50 years. Why not educate yourself before posting inanities.

Yes, everyone knows that govt employees cannot lose a pension. The people that pay for their pensions, however, often don’t have one at all. At the same time, they wonder why we are disgusted by them!
The military 50% at 20 is on “base pay” only. Numerous military types whether officer or NCO, get maxed out on pay at mid paygrades like E-6, 7, and officers who are O-3,4.
Now lets look at this 1% per year and let’s be truthful about GS12 or so types with 30 years. Try about 56.25 and 42 years would yield 80% or more. Lets look at TSP and FEHB. Tell me that the military Tricare beats the non Obamacare plans that every Congress critter gets, too. My BIL left as a GS 14 to be VP of a major aerospace Corp. He owns his own defense contracting Corp. Men I served with, like a fellow CPT, retired from the CIA 6-8 years back. He was head of South America. He had well over 40 as he was medically retired due to wounds. I knew an SF Major who went to the State Dept in Vietnam. He was head of I Corps in Vietnam. He is so poor.

Board meetings with Directors decide what is given to the higher executives as compensation. It is very naive to believe we have any say in the matter.
Federal pay at the highest grades are a pittance compared to the tens or hundreds of millions the CEOs are paid even if their jobs are equal in responsibility and difficulty. Supervisors in government supervise far more employees than in the private sector.
Be aware that if the more prized jobs (jobs that are competed for) have their salaries reduced so will everyone else.

Myself, I have no particular knowledge or interest in Deep South politics beyond hoping & praying that the good citizens of those states will elect representatives who reliably support President Trump’s agenda.

Had you been reading my writing on subjects other than the civil war for the last several years, you would have noticed that my interest in the politics of various states depended upon where the battle was being waged at any given time. I opined quite a lot on the battle between Lisa Murkowski and Joe Miller. (Once again a Cartel influenced the outcome of a Federal election) When Wisconsin was stealing the election from Norm Coleman, I raged about that. When the establishment was attacking Sharon Angle, (Nevada), I pointed out how they always attack conservatives. Same thing with Christine O'Donnell (Delaware) who got a completely raw deal from "our" side.
You think I have a particular focus on Mississippi and Alabama, but in fact they are only the most recent examples of "our" side trying to backstab the conservative candidate, and they are also perhaps the most egregious examples I have ever seen of the establishment following a scorched earth policy against reform candidates.
But you may believe as you like.
