MEMPHIS, Tenn. - A Facebook post is going viral in Memphis, but the people featured in it likely wish it wasn’t.
The post, which has been shared more than 339,000 times, reads as follows:
I don’t understand how can someone do this. Poor waiter was just doing their job and to have someone take it without reason. She left $20 tip to only have someone else take it.
It features two videos.
In the first video, you see two women getting ready to leave Casa Mexicana on Hacks Cross. One of them places money on the table – a tip for the waiter – and they walk away.
Once they leave, a woman in the neighboring booth points to the table with the money. She looks over her shoulder and around the restaurant and talks to the man she’s sitting with.
Eventually, she gets up and takes the money off the table. After hurrying back to her booth, the woman stuffs the money in her shirt and the couple continues looking around.

Me either - she probably was afraid it would seem racist not to leave it in plain view, I mean, how dare she make assumptions about who might steal it!
A family member of mine had a store in a mall.
She was the most libtarded of liberals - until then.
Now she says she cannot believe how racist she has become.
Although her mall was far away from the big city and had 80 to 90 % white clientele, she said 80 to 90% of her problems (shoplifting theft, bad checks) were from black people.
Reporting the truth is not racist.
Nearly half of all black people are on welfare, the other half work mostly for the government.
I am too old to worry about what I am called for reporting the truth.
There has not EVER been one serious examination of the full consequences of the ‘great society’
I’ve eaten lunch there at least 100 times, but I would never go near the place after dark.
They were definitely focused on the diners who were leaving. Maybe that’s how they spend their afternoon, going from restaurant to restaurant stealing tips.
Hope somebody rats on them.
Couple of weeks later I was waiting on the same two couples. This time just before they were about to leave I approached the table:
“Do you need change?” I asked as I picked up the tray and cash.
“No everything was great. Thanks”
I looked at the thief and she just glared at me.
I never saw them again.
Clearly, she must of been short on change, and only took the neighbor tip so that she could leave a tip are her own table.
Oh wait, her table didn’t have money on it?
It was my experience as a waiter for several years that the worst tippers were female teachers.
That’s the idea I get about the mall near us, although I never go there.
It’s been there since the 70’s and I never used to hear about fights and shootings.
Suspicion confirmed.
They figure it's a way of "getting even" for 400 years of slavery.
I think the whole thing was staged. Watch the video, you realize it is not surveillance footage. Someone is holding the camera. At one point they pan in and the camera is constantly moving. Why would someone just happen to be filming at that point before the couple left?

May have been a restaurant employee who has experienced this “customer” before and this time, wanted to have proof of what was happening.

Nope. Someone used his/her phone camera to record the video being played on the security monitors. You can clearly see the monitor screen.
They be entitiled to it, reparations don’ you see?
In fact, if you look at the brand name of the monitor the person is recording from with a phone, you can see the monitor’s brand name - Lorex.

The owner of a Mexican restaurant in our town said there’s a group of beauticians who eats lunch there. A certain one will do the same thing — say she forget something and then comes and scoops up all the tips from that table.
I know black waiters and waitresses who would rather not take a table than wait on black customers. I live in Memphis.
Very sad. However, I’m glad it’s being shown on TV in Memphis. Nothing better than your 15 minutes of fame!
