Upon signing of the spending bill, the President sent a letter to the Speaker of the House of Representatives and the President of the Senate. The President hereby designate as an emergency requirement ALL funding so designated by the Congress in the Act pursuant to section 251(b)(2)(A) of the Balanced Budget and Emergency Deficit Control Act of 1985, for the accounts referenced in section 7058(d)

I believe any issue before SCOTUS must be a Constitutional one. T^he Congress _could_ (my opinion) sue under Separation of Powers/Enumerated Powers.

I have faith in POTUS’ lawyers.

Trump reads contracts to find the ways they can be manipulated. It is something he enjoys doing. Congress never reads anything.

Guess who has the edge?

Every one of those lower level judges is subject to review. So far, they have been put in their legal place.

They issue these rulings to throw up roadblocks and stall for time. POTUS has the stature/standing to request fast-tracking of issues, especially when he can cite National Security.

Sometimes the same or similar low-level courts repeat the performance and so far, IIRC, they have been dismissed by the supervising courts.

It’s mostly Kabuki.

If POTUS impounds all or part of some of the appropriated funds and returns them to the Treasury, our price goes down.

That Budget Emergency Act from Reagan’s administration seems to allow just that.

Exactly! That’s what business people do. I will always give him the benefit of the doubt. He’s learning on the job but he’s focused on his goal. I think he’s doing a GREAT job!

From what I understand so far, the President got money for the wall and for the ultra-necessary military rebuild and restore after its almost two decade death by a thousand cuts constant warfare since 9/11.

Sessions got lots of money to fund his taking the swamp war to court and then on to Gitmo.

Kick back and, while praying constantly, observe the battle.

In the war of good against evil, like the man said: “It’s show time.”

And if every penny of the $1.3T is spent this year, it’s entirely on the President at this point, correct?

I’m guessing the GOP and demonrats made a deal with President Trump because they knew this law. All they had to do was send him an omnibus bill, he signs it, sends the letter to notify congress what he intends to do.

The only up side for the GOP and demonrats is if Trump does move the money to build the entire wall is they can claim during the midterm elections that they are not to blame for the wall.

Trump gets the wall and all the blame and they remain blameless.

Yes you’re right but entertaining nonsense, that is decisions that are literally stupid, as if they are not stupid and self serving is a vast disservice to thw rule of law. They will tie Trump up again and can do it again and again. The demons must be faced sooner or later.

I’ve been paying close attention to events for the last few days and I have hopes that President Trump is closer to a George Washington than a Benedict Arnold. Events unfolding point to the former. If this plays out the way it can, then God is smiling on the United States of America and wants it to continue. We shall see................... Pray for America.

As traitors, the fifth-column leftist media is ignoring the Letter from President to Speaker of House.

What is puzzling is that the conservative news sites and blogs (except for Free Republic) are ignoring it. Drudge has nothing (which may be an indication of which side his political bread is being buttered).

Is it just because it's Sunday or is it that conservatives think Trump's letter doesn't really mean anything significant.

info in bill says no monies to PP can be used for abortions.

So this money will be used to fund overhead and 100% of all other monies received will go toward abortion. Unless you starve their budget nothing changes.

Congress can sue, or they can impeach. There is no debate on that. Can Pelosi sue, and can Schumer, or does it have to be Congress, as indicated by majority vote on a resolution?
