Okay so what is the problem we fear most about our cell phones? Other than the battery blowing up in our pockets which is rare, the big fear is dropping your cell phone and breaking your screen. Sure, there are cases that help prevent that but it's not a perfect solution.
The fact is that shattered cell phone screens is the biggest problem with cell phones. And when they break, it can cost you HUNDREDS of dollars to replace. The screens themselves aren't all that expensive: you can get a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge replacement screen for between $20 and $40. What is expensive is the labor.
This VIDEO shows you a supposedly "easy" way to replace the screen but the sarcastic comments show it is far from easy.
So to me the obvious solution is to make cell phones with modular screens that simply pop into place when you need to replace a broken screen. Hopefully phone manufacturers of the near future will make such cell phones.
I think I failed on the S7 because the screen was just so very shattered.
I ended up damaging more than just the glass trying to get it cleaned out.

I bought 2 LD G3’s in January at Ebay.
Here is a new listing LG G3-D851 for about $60 for T-Mobile and Verizon.
I picked the older model (4 years) because it has good reviews and a easy changeable battery. Just take the cover off and slip out the old battery and in with the new.
Use CPU-Z app to compare the specs with the Samsung S8. Nearly identical. $60 vs $800
