I’ve never heard a horse accused of being smart.
“it was delicious.”
That surprises me. Why aren’t we eating more of them? Was at an Australian restaurant in Scotland that served zebra. (And kangaroo....Who eats ROO!!!)
My grandfather used to bring tacos when ever he came to visit. They were fabulous!
When he stopped bringing them we asked why? “Board of Heath closed them down. Meat was cat.” My brothers and I after that called cats “walking tacos.”
Horses are just pretty cows, many countries slaughter and eat horse meat.
Nah, “meat is meat” ... unless it is horse meat. Did you ever try it? I had it in Belgium (tried to pass it off as a hamburger). Gray and nasty. I literally spit it out on the plate. I don’t think it will work its way into the food chain around here. Belgium only has horse meat because of tradition, that where the dead carriage horses went ... seriously.
Is Evangeline the Laughing Cow (La Vache Qui Rit)?
Great cheese but is it ever expensive! But buy some & save a trip to France and avoid Muslims & TSA as well.
;^)
I keep on threatening to trade her in for a Kerry (the cow, not the politician) but she knows she gives lovely milk so she just snickers at me.
You must have had some ‘other’ kind of ‘meat’ in Belgium!
By all accounts I’ve read, horse meat is indistinguishable from beef, and is very tasty.
Did they know you were an American?
Were you in a Korean restaurant?
Was the waiter French?..............................
*By all accounts Ive read, horse meat is indistinguishable from beef, and is very tasty.*
Not really. Decades ago, when the price of beef went up, my little butcher shop started to carry it. I tried it. It was lean, not unlike venison; Not with much taste/flavor. I would say, it is a dry meat.
Cut I bought was grilled like a London Broil would be. If I ever had to buy it again, I would smother it with mushrooms and onions.
That’s the thing, it has little fat for flavoring, so most recipes are full of spices and garlic to add the missing flavor.........put enough garlic on anything and it will taste good.................
Jes askin; but, did you ever own a horse?
Good Grief ... it was a Belgian restaurant (they are all “French/Swiss/German/Polish/Etc”. Trust me my friend, it was horse meat. It is “ground” like a hamburger in this case, but it was a lot more gray and it tasted awful. Now you have another “account” to consider.
It’s not supposed to be ‘gray’....................
Horse meat, with a side of asparagus, is a big favorite...
...at least, according to the latest Gallop Poll.
