Putin Thinks He's Winning and takes his cues from country's Stalinist past

Today, the Stalinists in Russia are enjoying their greatest heyday since 1953. And the West doesn't understand nor want to admit it.

The Kremlin’s strategy toward the West has been in place for some time and is based on a vision of Russia as a great power in the Stalinist style for namely under him, the country experienced the peak of "great power" status..."

Stalin, who in their estimation, ‘saved Western civilization from Nazism/fascism.”

The only difference is that Stalin strove to Sovietize Western countries while Putin and company seek the fundamental weakening of the West, Western institutions, and the destruction of close coordination between Europe and the US.

Putin’s strength is further enhanced by the fact that he adroitly plays on the human weaknesses of the representatives of Western countries, corrupting some successfully, dividing and perverting them.

In response to the Western expulsion of Russian diplomats: Putin adopted not only the mirror response of expelling Western diplomats but directly accused the countries of Western civilization not simply in Russophobia but in the support of Nazism. Unfortunately, up to now, few in the West have taken note of this in the serious way it deserves.

Putin’s Russia seeks to portray the Western world as facilitating this threat of revived Nazism and fascism, not only in the former Soviet republics of the USSR – Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and Ukraine – but in the Western countries themselves. It has created an organization “The World Without Nazism” with branches in many countries including the US to push this line.

To proceed: the West must start with an understanding of what it means that Putin has chosen Stalin and Stalinism as his models for emulation and legitimation.

“World Without Nazism”

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_Without_Nazism

A Russian political organization with ties to Vladimir Putin’s government, which claims to campaign against “neo-fascism.”[2] The group has also been described, by security agencies from the Baltic republics, as a Russian propaganda organization,[2] and as a Kremlin-sponsored GONGO,[3] which aims to advance Russian foreign policies against formerly Soviet-occupied countries and to promote “a Soviet-era approach to World War II”.[4] The organization was founded and is led by Boris Spiegel, a Russian oligarch with close ties to Putin. It was founded in Kiev, Ukraine, on 22 June 2010, and is registered in Strasbourg, France.[5][6][7]

The organisation accuses the countries that were formerly part of the Communist Bloc of “rapid nazification.” It criticizes the “Western European democracies” for their alleged role in starting World War II and proposes a common history textbook for all of Europe based on “serious scientific study, as well as the decisions of international judicial and political authorities on which basis the postwar world order had been built” (see historiography in the Soviet Union).[8]

Two of the most apt quotes regarding politics I have ever come across, and I love collecting quotes and I love studying politics:

“One person dead is a tragedy. A million dead is a statistic”.

“It’s not who votes that counts. It’s who counts the votes”.

Oh Phooey. I’ve been hearing about Russia as a big bugaboo for decades. They are a lot like us.

the destruction of close coordination between Europe and the US.

This has been the Holy Grail of Soviet/Russian foreign policy since 1945.

who writes this crap?

Irina Pavlova. A Russian historian in her 70s who has penned several Russian books on Stalinist power politics and the infrastructure of covert Kremlin operations.

Pavlova has been a close observer and writer of the transition of power in the Kremlin from the Glasnost/Perestroika era, to the Soviet collapse, to the Yeltsin era, till now. Putin will be the longest serving Russian leader since Josef Stalin... and whose predictions for Russia's [geo]political winds have consistently proven accurate and far ahead of their time.

She loves her country, deeply admires the West, and wants Russia to break free from its dark past.

I think you might have been responding to the post above mine. They’ve been messing with us since the 20’s, and we’ve influenced every other country by any means at our disposal since Franklin went to France!

I think it turns out the problem was never that the Russians were communist, the problem was that the communists were Russian :-)
