Cruz at his worst was very bad. For example, blaming Trump for democrat-instigated violence at Trump rallies was reprehensible.

Another example is his absolutely deplorable behavior at the Republican convention.

But... whatever. It’s a long time ago. I haven’t forgotten, but I’m willing to forgive. Hell, whatever his faults, Cruz is still better than 95% of those other worthless idiot Senators. I just wish he and the rest of them would stand up and publicly get behind Trump about this coup (I’m even sure it’s a “soft coup” anymore) that’s going on. All their silence does is make me suspect they’re part of it.

Yes, and no. President Trump insulted Cruz's wife. While the correct answer for the country was to get behind the nominee and do everything possible to avoid a lethal blow to freedom that a Hillary victory would have produced, Cruz is also a married man. It's hard to blame him for deferring to family loyalty, particularly since it turned out not to have harmed our candidate. It may even have helped Trump that he had yet another DC resident who didn't support him.
