Many grades of stainless steel, not so many work well with seawater.

Adam had the first bolt. Eve was the first nut. The serpent came along and they got screwed. -— Christian HS humor.

Noah and his sons each had a wheel with a problem, a hole in the middle. They put a stick thru the middle of both holes, tied their stuff to the stick and dragged it onto the Ark.

Balaam put a stick in the hole of two wheels, tied his stuff to it and tried to get his ass to pull it through. But his ass wouldn’t bolt.

I did a search and found this old advertisement in what looks like a 1950s era business magazine.

I had no idea they were that old. I have this same piece. I found it in the drawer of an old desk at my first job.

It's proudly displayed in my office.

If aluminum was required for whatever reason, maybe they had to go large to compensate for the strength. Aluminum fasteners are often used in electrical power gear because of conductivity, so that might be the explanation.

There are 2 kinds of countries.

Those that use metric, and those that have been to the moon.

What would you be if you were attached to another object by an inclined plane, wrapped helically around an axis?
