They’re not joking. The sticker is more for sales purposes. The shutoff is easy and instant. Note the warranty too. I have older non-EPA containers. The No-Spills are my favorites for filling equipment. They flow better than the old containers too.

I bought a couple of the new cans and ended up ripping out the spring and flow control guts from the nozzle and corking it with a rubber stopper. Had to drill a vent hole in it also.
Go old skool.
Get a funnel. Take the cap off the “can”. Pour carefully.
I got 6 of the 5 gallon ones and 6 of the 2 gallon ones. I’m good!
I bought one of those things. They do not pass gasoline at more than a trickle and some not at all. I have bitched about mine and heard many other bike and car people bitching about theirs. Mine could not be made to produce more than a drip so I went really old tech on it, removed the spout altogether, poked a small hole in the top rear of the thing and poured the gas through a funnel. You don’t need a new can. You just need a couple of milk jugs and a funnel. And you get to perfume the air with lots of fumes. The old cans with the spouts that actually worked were not so prolific in the dissemination of fumery as milk jugs and funnels.
We need to sign and share the petition as a first step in bringing the EPA to its knees! /s No, seriously. This would be gold if Trump brought it up at one of his rallies.

Anybody, who ever gasses up any gas mower engine while it's hot, using any kind of gas container, is insane.

Yep, use only non-oxy (oxygenated=has ethanol) for anything other than the car or a machine that gets its tank refilled frequently.
Most hardware stores have replacement spout + vent kits, with adaptors for different ports.
I do wish the $$$$$$ ethanol subsidies (farmer welfare) would just stop. Use the land to grow food crops (hopefully non-GM).
BUT in the vid you linked the guy didn't add the vent, which is half the battle.

Home Depot sells this style. They do work well.
I still have an old one. It is one of most prized assets thanks to EPA tyranny. If it breaks I will probably cry.
I have always called these new cans OBAMA cans, all part of the new Obamanation people.... people ordered it up trying to be all nice and all ‘ unraciss’ and such....voting for a community agitator in chief instead of a President.

I did not ever once, leave them in the sun. Plastic can be made cheap enough to deteriorate just existing in the air.
