Robert Earl Butts Jr., 40, was declared dead by a prison warden at 9:58 p.m. after the compounded barbiturate pentobarbital was injected into his body. Prison officials said he had declined to take a sedative.
Butts was convicted along with 41-year-old Marion Wilson Jr. in the March 1996 slaying of Donovan Corey Parks, an off-duty prison guard. Parks, 24, gave the men a ride outside a Walmart store in Milledgeville. The men then ordered him out of the car and fatally shot him, prosecutors said.

Time to back to the old days, once found “guilty” go directly to the hanging tree for the public execution. Seeing someone hanging by the neck in the public square might be a great deterrent for future such crimes.

Probably not. The newspapers are losing money by the fistful and have cut jobs at every level.
They figure spell check and grammar check on the word processors is good enough,and if there are mistakes most Americans are now to ill-educated to notice or care.
The area where I live has become one of the largest bedroom communities for Washington DC. Back around 2000 all the leftist whack-jobs found us and moved here so there are tons of Negro families here where the parents work for the Government in jobs given to them for nothing more than their skin color.
These people try to emulate Middle Class but most of their children devolve into the Ghetto Thug mentality and their parents don't, or can't, do anything about it. I think it is they just don't as I have seen high ranking (top pay grade) Negro men bump fists and talk trash with negro thugs they have just met, all because they have the same skin color.
From my observation these Negro families beak up at an even higher rate than whites, even with the advantages of their high paying fake jobs. The family across the street from me moved in and the father left less than two years later, leaving the teen male to his own devices. The kid is now 18 and was arrested three times last year and is still awaiting his sentence for his last run-in with the law, and he still deals drugs out of his car that is not registered and sits in the street in front of their house.
This is the evil enabled by misplaced compassion.
Liberals care more about the murderer’s pain than the people he murdered and their families.
Their compassion is for the wrong “victim”, thus creating more pain and evil.

And when that “government check” reaches 18 they are out on their ear with no real job skills.
He was on Death Row almost as long as his victim had lived. There are many like that.
A while back, one of the crime shows reported on some older crimes. One, in the late '30s was a Brit who murdered his wife and dissolved her body in a barrel of acid. The court condemned him to death. THREE MONTHS later, he was hung.
I once proposed to a guy who was running for a judgeship in AZ that if people can be exonerated using DNA, why can't murderers who are convicted the same way, be executed in a years' time or at least have their appeals period shortened. Horrified deer in headlights response.
That's an excellent talking point! Justice delayed is justice denied.
