The fight over net neutrality returns as supporters launch long-shot bid to resurrect the rules

Democrats and other supporters of the controversial internet traffic regulations are seeking to turn the tables on Republican opponents by using a legislative tactic, popularized recently by the GOP, to resurrect the rules the Federal Communications Commission struck down last year.

...

Democrats are using the maneuver to keep the issue alive heading into this fall's elections, which will determine control of the House and Senate, said Daniel Lyons, an associate professor at Boston College Law School who specializes in telecommunications and internet legal matters.

"It keeps the issue in the headlines, and it forces some members of Congress to stake a position they'd perhaps rather not stake," said Lyons, a visiting fellow at the American Enterprise Institute think tank.

Both sides in the matter say they are trying to preserve the open nature of the internet. The debate, going on for more than a decade, had been about what role the federal government should play in doing that.

Ridiculous! Nothing has changed since the rules vanished. If they did my Son and Daughter, neighbors, SOMEBODY would have let me know. Nobody I know is thinking or talking about this. It’s a non-issue.

If the Democrats want it, it can’t be good.

Both sides should be told to go pound sand.

It’s a bloody shirt issue that is useful for getting Millenials off the couch and out to the polls. Frankly if I were Trump I would have let this sleeping dog lie till the second term.

All you need to know about ‘Net Neutrality ‘ is that the left wants its bloody hands to control the Internet. This very site, my very post , is proof of the threat posed by the Internet that leftists must crush if they are to continue imposing their tyranny.

Just as Dennis Prager has often said:

The Left destroys everything it touches and

Being on the Left means never having to say you're sorry.
(after all, your "intentions" were good!)

Given how effective the left is at conquering societies methods of learning and communications I'm amazed at how long it took them to dream up this nugget of tyranny they call ‘Net Neutrality ‘ . Of course they sell it with a lie, that's what the left does best.

Your comment is short and to the point.

Me, I would have posted a volume about it, but you managed to convey the foundation in two short sentences.

Good job!

The Left destroys everything it touches

It's all about the centralization of power to achieve their illusionary utopia. They simply can't understand the power of freedom to make everyone's life better

You tube already demonetizes anthing with the slightest hint of conservativism

Facebook already buries any news that has the slightest hint of conservatism

Google already biases their search results to hide or deemphasize anything that might make dhimmicrats look bad, orconservatives look good

What more could they possibly want?

If Net Neutrality worked as its name implied, it would prevent facebook, youtube, and twitter from banning conservatives.

Facebook Etc. Is proof of how effective the left is at seizing the high grounds of communication. Free Republic is the example of the power of free thought unleashed. Guess where I hang out more often?

They don’t have to even outright ban you, just downthrottle your posts and content. Same thing they allege Comcast would do to Netflix.

Just a show vote in the Senate.

It has no chance of even getting a vote in the House.

So why would any Republican go along with giving the Eems a show victory ?!?
