Pregnant woman and service dog punched in airplane scuffle in Orlando

59-year-old man punched a deaf pregnant woman and her service dog inside a Frontier jet upon landing in Orlando on Friday, Orlando Police said.

According to a police report, Timothy Manley was travelling from Colorado Springs, Colo., along with his wife Petrini Manley, 56, and Joshua Manley, 27, all from Gainesville.

Petrini Manley complained of being allergic to dogs as the plane descended and was being taxied to the gate at the Orlando International Airport. The service animal, a Great Dane, woke up and Timothy Manley told police the dog “took up more space than [he] felt it deserved.”

Timothy Manley then punched the service dog, Zariel, causing it to yelp. The dog shook its head and hid under a seat, according to the police report.

The 21-year-old woman and her 30-year-old partner, who is also deaf, tried to yell at Timothy Manley as best as they could, the report indicates.

Police said Timothy Manley then got into the man’s face and punched the woman, who is about 20 weeks pregnant.

Two officers arrived at the scene of the scuffle as Timothy Manley passed by them, saying “It took you all long enough to get here,” according to the report.

1. Timothy Manley is nuts.
2. A Great Dane, which can weigh up to 200 pounds, as a service animal?
3. I'm all for the airlines imposing sanity on this 'service animal' business.

Agree. Was in Walmart recently with a woman and her poodle running free off leash. Manager said nothing he could do. Called corporate and they
Corrected that situation

What is going on with airlines and airline passengers these days?

Good question.

1. Timothy Manley is nuts.

Yes.

2. A Great Dane, which can weigh up to 200 pounds, as a service animal?

You would prefer she had a service Chihuahua?

3. I'm all for the airlines imposing sanity on this 'service animal' business.

The dog is a service animal trained to help a person who is deaf. Not a "support" ferret.

Timothy Manly should be arrested for assault, pure and simple.

It’s like everything. As we run away from God, our true selfish, pagan nature comes out and our most valuable idol is ME.

Maybe there should be a limit on size of dog allowed for service.

That stated, this woman is deaf, her dog probably actually does perform some service.

And why complain about allergies and size at the END of the trip? Wouldn’t that come up early?

They THINK they’re exercising their “rights”, but except for the few, who really do need a service dog or capuchin monkey, all they’re doing is trampling everyone else’s rights, and indulging in their own “in your face” selfishness.

Are you aware that there are dogs in between the two? Almost all dogs are between the two. Is she too stupid to take cues from a 50 pound dog?

I have absolutely zero religious faith, and I would never act like this jerk. In my experience, a--holes come in all varieties. Some are believers, some are not.

Plus a smaller dog would be easier to manage, feed AND have a longer useful life as a service animal

I have seen pet pigs in the local Walmart. A friend who works as a teller at the bank inside Walmart has told me the tellers and all the Walmart associates are absolutely forbidden from challenging these people.
All animals in stores are to be regarded as legitimate service animals.

Don’t even try to put a Great Dane next to me on a plane. Service animals need their own seat.

“What is going on with airlines and airline passengers these days?”

How about mentally ill passengers, who should not be on planes, trains, buses and in other areas.

>>I have absolutely zero religious faith,

What is at the center of your universe then? Do you believe in chaotic randomness that creates you and the next guy and then you feel a societal need to cooperate based on your shared experience as nothing special?

The poor doggie was a real gentleman—on being punched, he hid under a seat. I have a Dane and he's a real sweetie. Gratuitously punching one is pure thuggery. God God, the dog proved he was a well trained service dog by not even growling at the vicious, sadistic thug.

An Great Dane is not a high energy breed which means that the Great Dane probably behaved much better on the plane then the fifty pound whatever you want to stick her with.

Is she too stupid to take cues from a 50 pound dog?

She would have been matched with a dog that fit her needs.

The dog behaved properly. The lady behaved properly. The human male is the stupid violent one here so why the hating on the dog and the lady?

Does her being deaf in public offend you?

Mine, who’s a bit small, is a 120 lb. male. He’s eight years old and in excellent health, which is great because it’s going to hurt like Hell when I finally lose him. One of the two greatest dogs I’ve ever had. He’d be a bit much in steerage on a plane, since he takes up as much space as a small woman.

My Dane would be happy to try to sit in your lap and he usually doesn’t fart.
