The critics could just be intellectually lazy. To appear as effete intellectuals, they need to pan what is popular and embrace what they know is crap. Plus, most critics are fags.
The Bird Cage is funny even if it does contain blatant generalizations of gays. It comes off like a minstrel show at times.
“The Crying Game” 1992, big rave critics reviews about and IRA member, Stephen Rhea, who kidnaps black British soldier, Forrest Whitaker and during the course becomes odd friends. Rhea promises Whitaker he talk tp W’s “girlfriend” when his murder is imminent. Rhea does so, falls into a relationship only to discover the “girlfriend is a tranny...but...it’s alright Jack because... gay
I can also remember the big bookstores (Walden and B. Dalton) during the late 70’s and early 80’s having a “gay and lesbian” book section - an entire category by themselves. It just stood out so bizarrely to me. Ironic that it always seemed to be right next to the “self-help” section.
Their in our schools, teaching our young folk the art of being a queer.. Oh, not that there’s anything wrong with that.. PPFFFT..!! (Spit)!
Even in the Masterpiece series “Victoria”, they had to introduce a gay sub-plot between Lord Alfred and Edward Drummond. Totally unnecessary to the plot.

It’s almost impossible to conduct such studies today because they’re “not allowed” for fear of their conclusions.
Note: Surveys are NOT a substitute for studies.
Traumatic childhood events are often suppressed.
Try finding trained professionals to conduct the interviews who don’t have a gay sympathy bias.

My new rule is that I boycott anything tainted with a single drop of political leftism, and I don’t care how innocuous or brief it is. After decades of having this stuff shoved down my throat, I can recognize these political inserts instantly.
Oh, yeah. I saw lez couples embracing, bending one girl backward, performing "suck in the entire face" kissing for all to see in the halls. I also frequently witnessed hetero couples practically making a baby in halls, stairwells, etc. No sense of shame, no sense of morals, just like rutting mindless animals.
