I know it wasn’t their song but when he asked to go to the hospital did he say “come on Eileen”?

Bay City Rollers were one of those bands almost nobody could name a member of.

Beatles, everybody can name John, Paul, Ringo and George.

Rolling Stones, almost everybody can rattle off at least Mick, Keith and Charlie.

But I could never name a Bay City Roller ever.

That said, too bad about this guy, whose name I never heard of before (but I knew the Bay City Rollers since I was 13).

“...a virus that is attacking his vital organs. “

You never hear about viruses that attack non-vital organs.

“You’ve got a virus, but it’s only attacking your vestigial third-eye. Nothing to worry about.”

If the Gay City Strollers were ‘legends’ then so was Leif Garrett, the DeFranco Family, Debbie Gibson, Tiffany, and New Kids on the Block. :P

The best Rollers song was Rollers Show by Nick Lowe as a sort of tongue in cheek tribute to them to his punk/new wave audience.

My husband was in a Cancun hospital about 5 years ago....I slept on a cot next to him...it was a “PRIVATE” hospital and he was under the care of an American physician...but, it still was a little scary. Luckily he was only there one night.

Chin up. Bay City Rollers founding member David Paton is great bassist, singer and writer. Left them and founded the band Pilot with guitarist extraordinaire Ian Bairnson. The members of Pilot were in Abby Road studio and happened to be available when Alan Parsons and Eric Woolfson were working on the first Alan Parsons Project album. The members of Pilot became the backbone. David Paton sang and played on many APP albums.

Oh how I remember these guys back in the day when they would feel the pages of Teen Beat magazine.

Unlike many girls, I never had a crush on any of them, (”Hutch” from Starsky & Hutch got my affections.)

I feel sorry for this poor soul if he’s being treated for an illness in Mexico.

He “has been taken seriously Ill whilst holidaying in Mexico.”

Sorry to break it to him, but it is not 1980 anymore, when Mexico was fun, gas was $1.19, and Sally Field won best actress. Today Mexico is a narco state run by unethical drug dealers.

The DeFranco who ??

Never heard of them....

Debbie Gibson obviously had her father’s backing, Tiffany was simply a no talent hack, and New Kids on the Block were essentially a non-Hispanic Menudo without the gay overtones.

“So if the thugs don’t get you, the food and water will (and the hospitals if you get ill). And Cancun is one of the few places in Mexico that is still considered a ‘tourist’ destination....”

“Hey honey, let’s go to Mexico”

“Cool...sounds like a great idea!”
