Robert De Niro had a few choice words for President Donald Trump while the legendary actor was on stage at Sunday’s Tony Awards to introduce Bruce Springsteen’s musical performance.
“I’m going to say one thing, F— Trump,” De Niro said while pumping his fists in the air. “It’s no longer down with Trump. It’s f— Trump.”
The political sentiment earned De Niro a standing ovation from the crowd at Radio City Music Hall, while CBS scrambled to bleep the audio on the live telecast. After the audience settled, De Niro got back to talking about Springsteen, who received a special Tony Award during Sunday night. The intimate show, “Springsteen on Broadway” — or as De Niro referred to it, “Jersey Boy” — features the Boss performing his music and sharing stories from his 2016 autobiography “Born to Run.” Tickets to the exclusive concert residency, which has been extended twice, are upwards of $850.
“Do you have any idea how hard it is to get tickets for Bruce Springsteen’s show on Broadway? It’s easier to get tickets for ‘Hamilton,’ and that’s got a much bigger cast, actual dancing and a history lesson,” De Niro joked.
So when De Niro finally got the call to see Springsteen play live, he said ‘yes without asking any questions.”
“Bruce, you can rock the house like nobody else,” he said. “And even more important in these perilous times, you rock the vote, always fighting for, in your own words, ‘Truth, transparency, and integrity in government.’ Boy, do we need that now.”

I have to admit that I’m a big fan of Robert De Niro, at least his early work, but he’s been mostly awful the past few decades. I thought it was because he’s getting older, maybe doesn’t have the passion any more, or possibly the roles just ain’t there, but something on The Daily Beast has me thinking it’s because he’s slipping into insanity. De Niro is predicting Hillary Clinton will win the White House in 2016 and his praise of her shows the telltale signs of dementia or maybe crack use.

The truth is that the scrawny picture of DeNiro was NOT posted by me to indicate that he is a weakling now. It WAS posted only to show his youthful scrawniness.
Now, as to his physical prowess these days, I have my serious doubts.
