MURPHY, NC (WSPA) - A Cherokee Co., NC teacher is accused of sex acts with a student, according to Sheriff Derrick Palmer.
Palmer says they began an investigation into a report that Kayla Sprinkles had engaged in sex acts with a student while she was teaching at a Cherokee Co. High School on March 26.
The HAVEN Child Advocacy Center assisted in some of the interviews due to the age of the individuals interviewed, according to the report.
She was indicted on June 4 on 5 counts of Sex Activity with a Student.
Sprinkles found out about the indictment and left the area, according to the report.
She surrendered herself the the Mecklenburg Co. Detention Center and was released on a $25,000 bond.
Sheriff Derrick Palmer stated “Our youth and our students are one of the greatest resources that Cherokee County is blessed to have. It is incumbent upon all of us to ensure their safety and wellbeing as they grow and mature.”

Geeeez, when in HS as a senior, we got a new teacher who was just out of college, and a real looker compared to the 60+ age teachers we were use to. Needless to say there could have been many accidents due to us males tripping on our tongues.

When the authority is sufficiently dedicated, there is no reason not to involve that expert.

No. these guys are just are no different than all of the other numbskulls that give women like this a pass because you get an erection at the thought of this.
While some guy rots in a cell because some “innocent princess” basically just accuses him of looking at her.
Frankly if this is the attitude of people, then get rid of all of the age of consent laws and let it all burn down, since so much of this is based on how turned on some dudes get by the teacher doing the screwing.
