I admit I was surprised...I thought nearly 100% that there would be a simulator included by the company that provided the navigation and control software, but I guess in thinking of it, many parts could likely be supplied by different vendors, but still...

It just seems like something that should be done. Ah well, they have all the sensitivity training stuff that is money better spent.../s

Hahaha...I know, but...as someone who works intimately with Speech Recognition software, I am dubious about that...

I had a funny story where my wife and I went to NYC with two other couples, and we were taking the subway and our newly purchased subway cards stopped working with half of our group on one side of a turnstile, and the other half on the other side.

There were no subway employees (the downside of automation) but I eventually spied a phone number on a sign on a wall to call for help. When I called, I could barely hear due to noise, but worse...

It was ALL voice activated with no option to press a key instead.

The problem was...there is no environment quite as consistently noisy as a busy subway in New York. No matter how hard I tried, the phone kept picking up background noise and interpreting it as commands!!!

Boy, was I hot. While my friends looked on with wide eyes, I reverted to my Navy days and began cussing up a blue streak with some fine and fancy cussing, strung together into nearly a single continuous sentence a mile long...:)
