Let’s pretend that “conflict” is something which has never happened throughout history. Let’s pretend there were no wars.
Because Reality is something we need to hide from.

“Zulu” was a superb film that was about the Battle of Rorke’s Drift; also an excellent film was “Zulu Dawn” that centered on the Battle of Isandlwana. The Zulu Army had just come from Isandlwana the day before arriving at Rorke’s Drift.
A lot of Victoria Crosses were awarded to then men at the Battle of Rorke’s Drift.

My niece was heading into the army after graduation. One of the gifts I gave her was a CD of the movie Zulu. Her brother was heading off to post graduate studies in chemistry and biology. I gave him a copy of the classic the Andromeda strain.

The Zulus of 1879 may have been clothing challenged, but courage challenged they were not.

They ran out of numbers (er, maniacs willing to run in again against bullets.) They did know how weak the few defenders left standing were, how little ammo they had.

I had one of those.
Mine had been converted to .22LR in Australia. It also had better sights tho I can’t remember exactly what they were.
It was so accurate that it was boring.
There was one thing I loved about it. You could lower the lever, then just toss a cartridge in, bullet end first and it would automatically be perfectly aligned with the chamber. All you had to do was raise the lever and the cartridge would go right in.
