My guess is she was not in the best of health before she even ate this fried rice. So she wants to pin blame on the Chinese restaurant to get back some of the money she owes the hospital.

Prolly 100% scam and refusal to take responsibility for you own not-so-good health.

In case of foodborne illness, the diagnosis of B. cereus can be confirmed by the isolation of more than 105 B. cereus organisms per gram from epidemiologically implicated food, but such testing is often not done because the illness is relatively harmless and usually self-limiting.[30]

There's a science to eating at Chinese buffets - never go outside of prime time hours.

If you go at 3:00PM, you know that food has been sitting there for 3 hours.

Bad fortune cookie syndrome is worth at least $2mm.

IMO there should have been more people exhibiting the symptoms if it had been the buffet, especially a very busy one. Also, who is to say that she didn't eat something from another place and the symptoms began coincidentally when she left this place? There is a standard questionnaire for foodborne illness victims that goes back about what one ate for several days in these cases.

I got food poisoning at McDonalds from a burger and shake.

I got nothing free out of it.

“Only one incident of illness from that restaurant that day?”

That’s the KEY. What else did she eat that day and where. Perhaps she had some old leftovers. In any case, unless other plaintiffs (or witnesses) can be found, I would vote in favor of the restaurant, if on a jury.

Let's get the pronunciation right. It's: FLIED LICE!

I got food poisoning at McDonalds... One of the worst experiences I've ever had with food mishaps was the time my Mom and I traveled to Indianapolis from Charlevoix to attend the Indianapolis 500 with my cousin Lynn. We stopped in Niles Michigan, at Burger King for dinner, and I ordered a Fish Sandwich. That was the wrong choice. I came down with a case of food poisoning to hopefully never experience again. My whole time at the 500 consisted of me running down thirty rows of seats to visit the over-crowded men's room to relieve my intestinal agony.

Because of the ‘Fried Rice;, eh? How many other patrons of the buffet were hospitalized? became ill? felt even queasy? If the answer is one to none than bullshit!
