100 million dead? I think once the full scope of what Josef Stalin and Mao Zedong did during their reigns of power in the 20th Century, the death toll may be more like 200 million. There are a lot of deaths from mass shootings, labor camps, forced exile and deliberate famine still accounted for.

The 100 million are the ones we know about. It’s hard to tell how many people communists have killed because they prefer to do it in secret. The Soviets used to haul away people in busses disguised as ordinary trucks. No one was fooled in the towns they passed through, though.
