Hallmark, Inc. & your advertisers, thanks for giving us, the American people, all of us, a magnificent evening at the White House 4th of July gala with POTUS, Donald J. Trump and his wife Melania, & all the outstanding entertainers to honor our military folks and celebrate the birth of this great Nation Republic, the United States of America and the freedom it has given to us.
Your efforts and love of the American people and nation is much appreciated and recognized.
Must have been on one of their channels which isn’t showing Christmas movies 24 hours/day to celebrate “Christmas in July” - which they actually started last week in June.....
I watched Hallmark after learning about it here on FreeRepublic. I will thank the Hallmark Channel and their sponsors.
Wish I’d tuned in to this instead of the PC charlie foxtrot the Boston Pops show morphed into tonight.
PBS finally had some great patriotic songs but hardly showed the fireworks. The singers should have been small on the screen instead of mostly predominant.
Amen!
We really enjoyed it!
I adore the Hallmark movies.....they are sweet, clean and have a happy ending.
Its my get away from all the chaos
Ya know years back when I retired, I took a side job with Enterprise-Rent-A-Car. I had no idea what Hallmark TV was, nor, did I care. But...when Hallmark was taken off the air, the gals that worked at ERAC went absolutely wild with anger and they let the parties that removed Hallmark know their feelings.
As such, in short order, Hallmark was back on screen. I took time out to view the Hallmark Christmas fare, watching “The Christmas Card” & I loved it. Since then, the wife and I are big Hallmark fans. I am sure some people like it and some people don’t...but, Hallmark is making a ton of money in the movie business. That’s good enough for me.
Oh no. What did they do?
Good God. I can’t stand it.
Hallmark sponsors along with some others shown on our local PBS network not either Hallmark channel here in the home of Hallmark Cards (founded in Kansas City, Missouri by Joyce Hall) in Kansas City p, Mo.
Hopefully, the channel will decide to rerun it over and over, with lots of pre-publicity on the channel and through folks at FR and other patriotic sites.
PBS in Kansas City is running it again at CDT 10:30 til midnight. Well worth catching.
I live close to it, went twice. It sickens me to see it turned into something like that. I am going to have to do some exploring. Not going to watch the news to see it, though.
It was awesome!! Washington COMPOST commented and laughingly said that there were no stars appearing on tonight’s celebration...idiots!!! It’s about our nation’s birthday and those who defend her ..ITS NOT ABOUT FREAKIN HELLywood!! The program was very genuine catering to your normal average American folk! I thought it was awesome! will there be a re run?
Both MPT (Md. Public Television) and WETA-DC had great coverage of the 4th of July celebration/music fest in DC.
In my opinion, this was the best 4th Show, ever.
John Stamos was the host and did a rock solid professional job.
The musical presentations covered all the great spectrums of American/patriot music, from the Beach Boys/Jimmy Buffet (and his Broadway show cast), to Opera singer Renee Fleming, always great and stunningly beautiful in voice and appearance. A young woman who was on (and I think won) American Idol did a wonderful job of singing the “Star Spangled Banner” and the show ended with CeCe Winans doing a fabulous “God Bless America”.
In-between were the always great “Temptations”, a mixed music group called “Pentatonics” (really good for kids), and a couple of Country singers named Grammer, Alana (first name, blonde, lively and was a blend of Adele (better I think) and any of the veteran top country female singers); the always gracious hCita Rivera (from the original “Westside Story”); and the Washington National Symphony and military bands.
Not only was the music upbeat, it was from the “heart of America’s music”. It said, America, we are proud of you, proud to be Americans, and America is not only back, but always was here, just besmirched by the America-hating Left, but never down and never will be.
The best patriotic songs were:
“God Bless America” - Irving Berlin (always a thank you to Kate Smith)
“The Star Spangled Banner” -Francis Scott Key
“America The Beautiful” - Katherine Lee Bates
“This Is My Country” - Don Raye & Al Jacobs
I’m willing to bet that all over America, similar July 4th celebrations were held, with large, enthusiastic and proud crowds of AMERICANS and future Americans (not “culturally diverse groups”).
The Marxist/progressive anti-American totalitarians will condemn the success of these celebrations by yelling “Blame It on Trump”,to which Trump will answer “YES I DID”!
PS: Today I went into a neighborhood Greek food store to buy some Orzo for my wife. A man about my age was there (he was Greek) and tried to help me find it.
While talking about Greek food and the Greeks in general, he told me that he came to America in 1971 and had to register for the draft. He was proud of that because he was going to become an America.
He asked me whether I had ever been to Greece and answered “NO”. I said that I was travelling on the other side of the world to So. Vietnam/Cambodia during the war, then Taiwan and So. Korea to study. Told him that I was a journalist in Nam and he loudly told everyone in the store that “He’s a Vietnam Veteran”, even though he knew I was just a journalist. He said “But you were there”.
This is a real tribute to all those who did serve, fight, bleed and die there, but it took a foreign-born person who wanted badly to become an American, to “salute” those who fought for freedom.
This will be one of my best 4th’s ever.
Happy Fourth of July to all Freepers and patriot Americans everywhere.
I caught the last half-hour of it. I don’t know they promoted it much. If they did, I didn’t see it, and found the program by accident. What I saw was good, and I wish I could have seen the rest.
Missed. I found Boston Pops on Bloomberg via the website and then I saw The PBS version of D.C. on TV. I then since I was home and not going to the local fireworks show like the fast five years, I used earthcam. Saw the NYC fireworks without sound so then I put it on NBC to go a long with the TV. Then an hour later saw Nashville’s fireworks show with sound and then found the last minutes of Chicago’s show. I am not sure I will stick around for San Francisco but they have a cam. Also Denver but I think I missed as it was at Rockies’ Coors Field.
The Boston Pops one had a lady I never heard of Rianna Giddens and Rachael Platten and Rita Moreno and another woman came on later. Beach Boys, Temptations and Rene Fleming, some country singer on The PBS one. Keith Urban was on NBC but didn’t see it just the fireworks part.
