Florida GOP Establishment Ignores 4.6 Million Voters
Real Clear Politics ^ | 7/5/2018 | Steve Hantler

The lessons learned from the 2016 presidential and down-ballot elections seem to be lost on the old guard Republican establishment in Florida. The wave of voter alienation and dissatisfaction with “politics as usual” that President Trump rode into office is as strong as ever, as is disdain for career politicians. Yet, the party establishment has lined up in the gubernatorial primary behind a career politician – Adam Putnam – who opposes the president’s efforts to secure our southern border and stop illegal immigration.

Worse, Putnam did his best to sabotage Trump’s election by saying, among other things, that he is not “a level, steady, consistent guy who is a well-read, conservative.” -----------------------snip------------------ "It is ironic that, given Putnam’s voting record, he dares to question anyone’s conservative credentials. His opponent in the primary, Ron DeSantis, hammered Putnam at last week’s gubernatorial debate for the former congressman’s vote against allowing troops to assist in securing our southern border — the only member of Florida’s delegation to do so. This is as anti-border security as it gets.

DeSantis also ripped his opponent for supporting what DeSantis called the “Obama-Schumer Gang of 8 amnesty bill” -- the “biggest amnesty in history.” (etc)

Adam Putnam is a Jeb Bush neocon, and has tons of cash from the cheap leabor express.

Ron DeSantis is a Patriot, a founding member of The House Freedom Caucus. Trump endorsed DeSantis.

Polls had Putnam way ahead of Desantis until just recently when one poll had Desantis ahead.

Some good news: “Shock poll has Ron DeSantis up 17 points over Adam Putnam”

Not sure how reliable, but it sure sounds good!

Floridians seem to love Bush League Republicans hell bent on turning the USA into North Mexico.

Florida not only wants a Cheap Labor Express Governor, they also want to join TN and AZ as having two amnesty Senators.

I don’t know anything about Putnam, but De Santis seems to be a straight shooter, and he supports our President all the way. I hope Floridians give De Santis the consideration he deserves.

“In fact, Remington’s findings are the inverse of two recent polls from last month, with surveys from both NBC News/Marist and the Florida Chamber of Commerce showing Putnam up 17 points instead.” NBC and Chamber of Commerce really? DeSantis will win going away. Trump will be the difference as he was in NY 11 for Donovan. Trump produced a 28 pt swing. This is all very good. DeSantis and Scott will roll together.

From the RCP commentary this says all we need to know to vote for DeSantis-—

“””” So, why is the old guard lining up behind Putnam instead of DeSantis, the candidate endorsed by Trump?

One simple reason: DeSantis threatens their establishment existence. He will do in Florida what Trump is doing at the national level – drain the swamp and put an end to politics as usual. This is what over 4.6 million Floridians said they want, yet the old guard has turned a deaf ear to the voice of the people.””””

And Putnam also has problems being a Second Amendment supporter with his bad attitude about the NRA. In the Stand Your Ground state of Florida such a comment will result in Putnam’s demise in the August 28th Primary.

Feb 20, 2018 - TALLAHASSEE — Agriculture Commissioner Adam Putnam began his gubernatorial campaign by branding himself an “NRA sellout,”

Which campaign organization is working to get out the vote?

Who actually shows up are the ones who decide the future.

Nobody should expect affirmative action. You only deserve it if you work hard and work smart.

Adam Putnam has problems with his management skills—

Today, this was reported-—

“””Adam Putnam blamed one employee for bungling gun background checks. Records show the issue went deeper.
Interviews with investigators obtained by the Tampa Bay Times show an overwhelmed mailroom and confusion in the upper ranks”””

Are these 4.6 million voters going to ignore themselves? This headline is rather bizarre.

Putnam is a hypocrite - he was attacking DeSantis in the debate for being in Washington while serving in the House...you know, sort of like how Putnam did when he was in the House for a decade (as opposed to DeSantis who has served less than 6 years). It was not only a hypocritical thing to say but just a flat out stupid thing to say - attacking your opponent for showing up for work in the current office he’s elected to, especially since he had the same job himself? Does he think he should be attacked for having shown up for work himself when he was in the House?

“Scott is going to rolling with Rubio if he gets election.”

That would be quite a remarkable improvement, to say the least:
