England beat Sweden 2-0 in Samara on headers from Harry Maguire and Dele Alli and timely saves by Jordan Pickford, comfortably securing their place in the semifinals, where it will play either host Russia or Croatia on Wednesday. England, riding the high of winning a penalty kick shootout at the World Cup for the first time after besting Colombia in the round of 16, is in its first semifinal since 1990, while Sweden missed out on the chance to return to the final four for the first time since 1994 after a valiant run.

Would be nice to see England when. I think the last time they won the WC was 1966.
Goalkeeping IMO was the difference. The Swedish goalie had a shot at stopping both goal scoring kicks and missed. The English goalie made two fantastic saves. Switch roles, and Sweden wins 2-0 instead.
Globalists in the UK will be so disappointed. Go England!

Correct. And it was the only time.
Goalkeeping was big; but so, too, was the Swede strategy to play little or no offense — hoping, as in past games, to be opportunistic, creating turnovers at midfield.
It didn’t work worth a darn; and it must’ve left Swede fans shaking their heads in wonder at the lack of attack. I daresay the English were the ones on attack 75% of the game.

I don’t understand the love for England. The Muslim loving English hate Americans and consider us (and everyone else) inferior.
I will proudly pull for Russia or Croatia against them. Especially since I’m part Russian:)

France - Belgium
England - Croatia
Of course I’d love to see England win. But I’d also love to see one of the Davids Croatia or Belgium win the whole thing.
Why do we love the English? Our Foundiing Fathers were predominately Englishmen. English common law formed the basis of our Republic and our Constitution. Read the Federalist Papers. Despite its current failings, we owe much to England and so does Western Civilization. The Rule of Law is its legacy.
