Burke didn’t really apologize, IMO. She should have said nothing about the point she was trying to make about the president. She should have merely said she was sorry for her boorish behaviour. Her apology was basically “I’m sorry I yelled, but it was really Trump’s fault for being so degrading to women”. No sale.
They believe they should be able to berate Trump supporters free from consequences.
Now they're playing the "a MAGA hat is as hurtful as a swastika armband or Klan hood" card.
There are still many pockets of liberals in the conservative state of Texas. Houston is filled with crazy libs. I man, they elected an openly gay liberal woman as mayor. The conservatives have mostly fled to the suburbs.

Self-important councilwoman saw a 14 yo girl with a Trump shirt in line at a local sweet shop. Said councilwoman said

I have to agree. That article was honest and trying to put her in a good light at the same time. It didn’t work.

As an elected official she should have been even more circumspect in her public behavior than average folks.

There is a lot to be said for minding one’s own business. I highly recommend it. Too bad this Burke woman didn’t follow this simple rule.
Haven’t heard of the story yet through the usual channels...I’m not on Twitter but I suspect the Book Store owner won’t have any issues the way the Red Hen did...after all...the owner didn’t kick anyone out but instead called the police on a trouble maker who was ‘breaching the peace’ if I understand your story correctly.

Yeah, I know Houston is full of freaks...and it is surprising. I wish Texas would become Texas again—100%.
Kentucky used to be this way. So Texas was always my “last stand and fight” place. After all, the second largest group at the Alamo were Kentuckians (like Sam Bowie).
